Tips for farming carrots?
First time I tried the rain basically drowned them because of the max water limit. Anyone have work arounds or do you just have to be lucky?

I don't really know how to manage that, I have taken to farming cabbage and potato.

hey, if you have found an empty sandbag and a spate you can place dirt inside houses or build a small house without floor. i usually start with 75 water units and 2 days later 5 units. carrots are pretty good i think, they grow really fast.

So they don't actually need light?

You can drown plants?

I think your plants may have gotten a disease. I have always left my plants out in the rain. Their water has always stayed at well watered and always grown fine.

Tbh, I use the rain to where I never have to water them myself.

what I usually do is just water them when they're thirsty, other than that the rain just usually does the job lol(depends on the season though). just be sure to take care of your plants like remove diseases and stuff.

Please check the wiki. I hate getting tips from people who know even less than me in a subject. It wasn't disease since my level 3 farming skill tells me specifically what disease and how much of it is present.

I just mess with potatoes. plant seeds, water seeds once, and leave em thill they are seed bearing. seems to been raining plenty enough for bout 5 months now. One of my routines is stuffing corpses full of rotten potatoes.

also i dont plant them adjacent to any other crops, almost no problems with disease, plant two seeds every 5 days and i have gained over 5 packets worth of tater seeds and am producing more than i can eat, with the light eater perk that is :3

I was looking at some guides online and they said that carrots and radish don't grow for some reason. When I tried growing carrots they all died at different stages, never being harvestable. I'm not sure if I had bad luck but I'll try again.

Gonna say bug, they didn't drop below 90% water level and they kept losing health.

Sucks, I wanted to see if carrots could help me catch more rabbits. Back to potatoes I guess.

You were drowning them. They have a max water level, it's 65 I believe. Same for radishes. For some reason most of the community seems to be in the dark on this even though its clearly listed on the forums and the game even tells you this when planting them if you're level 4 farming.

I find it easy to comprehend but maybe that's because my dad's a botanist.

Doh, I never noticed that they have have max water limit, thanks. I'll agree with pewpewpew suggestion, just have some kind of roof over it and the rain can't get to it.
