Lucky trait? Waste?
From what I undrustand, it does not affect your chance to get a bite or lower the chance to get infected when bitten/scratched. Other thing that I have read is that it only affects loot rarity and chance to get better stuff. If this is all true and there is nothing else to it I find it kinda waste of trait points since I find it fun to scavenge around with my loot rarity set to extremely low, lucky trait might indeed make my chances to get better loot higher but what is the point of it if I intentionally like to play with the crappy loot in the first place? How you guys feel about lucky trait? Is the lucky trait cost worth the precious trait points to you?

Edit: Don't mind me much tho, I just recently died and got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off when I made this topic. It annoyed me that I keep picking traits that are no use to me at all.

*raging intensifying*

Finding 10x the number of axes makes it insanely over powered and worthwhile.

^This. Lucky is the most OP trait in the game. But no, it doesn't affect bites or scratches or anything like that, it only increases your loot drop chances. But it increases them A LOT.

For scratches and bites you want Thick Skinned.

volvo nerf lucky pl0x (plzno)
Yeah, I usually get that and it makes it much easier to survive, particularly for base building as I don't need to forage to get a stone axe after my 1 or 2 axes break.

lucky is one of my staples, worth it for axes on corpses.
Lucky impacts loot a lot , and rare loot and things , also as far as i know it lowers chance to actualy being hit so that impacts your survivability by minor bit

from hat i remember it impact lots things by minor amount
Axes galore ftw. I love having a full hiking bag of axes after a nice warehouse run. Thank you Lucky Trait!

Its good if you want more loot. If you really want to find less items then set it low loot and take unlucky

I started the game with loot rarity set to extremely rare and unlucky trait because you told me.
Went to cortman clinic, it had only 2 bandages and one bottle of antidepressants... I guess I will be needing those antidepressants after getting nothing from that place.

It only increases them by like 10%

Holy necro Batman!
I've played a character without lucky and have found some fire axes and hand axes on zombies in a short time. I think the effect on loot is actually pretty low. It is better to spend points on traits that are always working like fit/stout and fast learner.
We've got the Wiki, so needing to guess isn't all that necessary anymore. I believe when traits were being tinkered with it was modified. Now it's a humble multiplier of 10%, or .10. Still worth taking from my perspective.

Lucky:
  • +10% chance of finding rare loot
  • -5% chance of failing item repairs.
  • Add +1 to Foraging radius

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess things changed in the last 6 years since that post. You know, with the game still being continuously tweaked. Just a thought, but what do I know?
