You can read a book to fix getting bored from reading a book. Going outside and doing stuff usually fixes boredom but unhappiness can be fixed by some foods and books

you can also read newspapers and magazines to cure bordome.

My guy was scratched in the hand, He has the trait that makes him more likley to get infected, is he gonna die. I disinfected it twice and have been replacing dirty bandages

Run around outside, do some looting, or eat some "exciting" food that removes boredom. Just generally standing in place and walking laps around a room will bore your character.

if you stand outside while reading, you dont get bored. personaly, i tend to also take outdoorsman so i can keep doing it while its raining.
