tl;dr
Game development is a long, expensive and difficult process. "Almost 5 years" isn't really that long a development time for a team this small.
I kinda lost hope it would ever get a finished release.
What's even more sad is that back then, 5 years ago, I really wanted a good zombie game, plus with decent survival mechanics, so this seemed incredible and I immediately jumped on it.
Now with the massive flood of both zombie and survival games, even if this does get released, it's far too late for me to really care :/
Opposite for me, more and more interesting features added to this game brought me here, when I finally bought this I was satisfied, I do whine about some stuff in discussions but overally I like this game a lot.
Because game developing takes time, you never know what happends and how long it will take to finish several features....
You including Sims 4 on that list? I would.
I bought this back in 2011 and forgot about it after thinking it would never get finished. I played it for the first time again on Friday and it is an amazing game.
So completely disagree with your opinion. The game is amazing and has made leaps and bounds since I first saw it in 2011.
I do miss starting in office complexes instead of residential districts sometimes... and the old pushable green trash bins for hauling loot.
I remember accidentally smothering Kate when it first came out because I figured giving her a pillow would make her more comfortable... oh, the horror of realizing what I'd just done (the humor followed afterwards...
