Cant get mods downloaded to dedicated server
I have a completely separate pc that I use for homelab and game servers for me and my friends. I have setup SteamCMD on this and can get the server up with the settings I want no problem, but once I add in the mods into the servertest.ini I get issues with them downloading. I get the following messages in the log when I launch the start server.bat file

Press any key to continue . . .

I have tried moving workshop and mod ids around and only dropped to 1 and keep getting the same error no matter what with whatever mod/workshop ID is there. This particular mod as well does not have any other mod requirements for it according to the workshop.

I am unsure as to what to do to get these mods to start the download via SteamCMD? Again, this computer is not the PC i play the game on, but what will be hosting the server.

The computer you are hosting from has a steam account? Both the computers steamApps + server need the mod files. You cant have the server only with mods. Only thing I can think of that would do that.

When adding mods they have a SteamID and a ModID both need to be added and if you add more they need the ";" key to separate them.

so would i need another steam account with the game purchased to use the dedicated server function with mods? I can't even get the server to load up when having mods selected since i get this message. Works no problem running vanilla

yes that is the way it is set up. I even just tried with a single mod with the mod and workshop ids but it doesn't work

I do not think so, The server uses steam to log in. Thats why you cant host on same pc.
The mod subs are free so a new account would just need to sub the mods.

However what I did to back door the same PC thing is make a user2 account and shiftclick the 64.bat and run as user2.

okay, but i am not hosting on the same pc.

I have PC A that I use to play all my games and everyday use, and then I have PC B that is my homelab that i strictly use for SteamCMD for hosting dedicated servers like rust, satisfactory, and now project zomboid.

If the hosting PC is logged into steam the server should run.

You may not need to have the mods subscribed on the steam account itself. It just needs to log in.

So i have tested it while being logged into my steam account on the hosting pc as well and it still is the same issue. I don't have any issues running the server with the mods and workshop section blank in the servertest.ini, but as soon as i put any of the mod ids, i get this issue

D:\SteamCMD\steamapps\common\Project Zomboid Dedicated Server\steamapps\workshop\content\108600

Do you have this file path to mods? You may need to make a folder.

Thats the ids for the mod you have.
Workshop ID: 2611652130
Mod ID: DRK_1

I do not have a steamapps folder in the dedicated server directory. I just tried adding that folder path and running again, but the same issue.

Yea, I am sorry. If you are logged into steam and .ini was set up correctly then I dont know why it wont download.
You should re-post this in support and @Beard will get you set up. He is a good at solving these things.

so nobody knows why even though i put the mod Id and workshops ID into the server ini file it still wont download the mods to the server so i added them manually into the server and it ran fine for two weeks then a mod had an update and now it wont update the mod on server restart and i cant even just go add the updated mod files that doesnt work either why does running a dedicated server just not work for this game it takes me less than 30min to setup a minecraft server from scratch or an ark server even
