how rare is this?

i just started a game, and there was a construction meta event thingy right outside my starting house and i found a slegdehammer lol

The construction event isn't crazy rare, but it spawning with a sledgehammer doesn't happen too often from what I've seen.

Yep between shovel, hammer, pickaxe spawn, having a sledge spawn at the first encounter and right in your front yard, is pretty lucky:) Like hitting a jackpot at game start.

I had a construction pickup with the sewer grate directly over railroad tracks.
Not sure how that would work in real life. lol

Still playing on that game, but I did take the orange cones that were around the sewer grate for my base parking.

I used to collect those orange cones too, very nice additions to any home... until you accidentally run them over:D

I once saw someone post a picture of one that spawned on a small bridge. It honestly doesn't make a lot of sense in general when they spawn out of town, but restricting where they can spawn would just make sledgehammers even more rare.

I use a random spawn mod and one time i spawned in a Louisville hardware store that had 2 sledgehammers in it lol

There needs to be a mod that you can pick up and then push the plastic cone back into shape.

Not a fan of mods:) I think a tool can be added to the normal vanila game to fix that:P The fantasticaly Unplatter Fantasy Tool. Retursn all your cones to their standing firm form.

I recently did a Muldraugh start where I spawned in a trailer with a taxi out front and the keys on the shelf. Found one of those road crew pickup trucks with a sledge laying on the ground about 2 mins after leaving.. (I just tossed it in the back of the truck and left it for later).. then when I checked the crossroads a few minutes later, I found a brand new axe in the trunk of a Nyala, which I've never had happen before.

Then I died trying to raid the All U Can Eat Buffet.

To be honest... I don't consider sledgehammers too rare. Pickaxes are rare as all hell though... to the point I've had multiple instances where I found one and forgot they were even in the game. I have like 1000h PZ time, and I think I found a pickaxe like 10 times at most. Like katana's level of rare, or even rarer. I often got piles of sledgehammers lying around. Don't think I ever had two pickaxes in the same playthrough ever.
