Corpse Sickness, how deadly is it?
Randomly got a fever that killed me despite being uninjured and no cold or anything, can Prone to Illness kill you if you get Corpse Sickness?

If you can hear flies, and linger in the space you can hear flies, it WILL kill you eventually, Prone to illness or not. It's rotting corpse miasma, and it will kill you.

That said, It's not like a fever that follows you wherever you go- If you vacate the area to fresher air, your sickness will trend back downards with no ill effects unless you let it get all the way to max sickness- at which point you'll probably die before the sickness meter decays enough to stop doing health damage.

So, if I take all the corpses from clearing a base, move them all to a pile outside the base, and dont stand on the pile/where I can hear the flies sounds, I am safe?

its like 15 squares of danger zone or something like that so make sure to get them far enugh away. it takes a really long time to go from squeasy to sick to fever tho so next time watch your moodles more closely.

what killed you was the fever no matter what traits. fever will cause damage as long as you got it or till you are dead

You can also set the corpses on fire with a firepit, after piling the bodies on 1 square

If you have too much bodies around it can be very deadly in ..almost no time.
I lost my char 1 1/2 year old ingame while we cleared our base after a massive horde chased us away first and we had to deal with them for days before we were able to return.
Thousand of dead bodies in big piles around, we started to burn them ...but then i got sick out of the blue and my almost maxed character died within 50 seconds.
i was so pissed off..the moment when u just stop talking in discord, leave the house for a smoke outside...

If you went out smoking i doubt it was 50 seconds;)
Allthough i knew a guy that could do it, but i imagine you want to enjoy it so about 3 minutes at least.
The issue with corpse sickness is, that the symptoms appear faster the more bodies are around, and they advance also faster. So getting hot, then quezy and finally fever.
If you get to the fever part, yes it is almost certain death. I have like survived only 2(!) times fever on my chars. And each time it was because i friggin drank all the alcohol i had, so they were allways well fed and tired (aka was able to sleep any time.)
A hidden effect of alcohol is that after about 1-2 in game hours your character gets very tired, so he can sleep a long time. Since it also removes your hunger and your thirst, it is one of the best ways to cure fever currently. (Beside antibiotics)

Also, if you play multi and go out for a smoke and leave your char alone it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Na, i went outside for a smoke after my char died lol
The health bar drained so fast... no time to do anything, almost same as a fatal neck wound.

The flies is your tell...

1.You can have a million dead zeds outside your house and nothing will happen if staying inside.

2.You can not have a million zeds inside having closed doors and or wall between you and them, you will still be exposed.

3. If there is a million dead zeds on the one floor and you stay on the top floor you are safe.

4. sleeping in a car with a million dead zeds around will get you killled.

5. If outdoors and a million zeds laying around you are safe if you are +13 tiles away

6. 20 or more zeds will start your sickness.

7. dont panic if sickness reaches the first stage, its perfectly safe to keep fighting, just dont sleep around them, when you go home to your base it will even out fairly fast and you are good to go the next day,

I've never had problems with corpse sickness but then again I've never had that massive a number of zombies lying around. On rare occasions I might start feeling hot and queasy but at that point I take the hint and head elsewhere ASAP. Could be because I only do multiplayer these days, although I've been on a break since my favourite server went down a couple months back. The presence of other players mean really absurd populations don't get a chance to accumulate. Now sprinters on the other hand? Those I'm not fond of. Yes they can be dealt with but somehow just not fun.
