New to PC gaming and Project Zomboid.

I am new to PC and to Project zomboid id like to find 1 or 2 people who wouldn't mind playin with a noob. I'm not lookin for handouts and hand holding i just think this game would be more fun with others.

I'd really love to do multiplayer game if my laptop isn't a toaster. So, all I can do for now is to suggest you to go play the tutorial that the game provides. After that, pick single player game, then pick the sandbox mode. Once you enter the screen that has a bunch of settings, pick Initial Infection on the list at the bottom of the screen.

There are tons of videos on YouTube that give lots of great tips. PZ is one of those games where you just have to learn the basics the hard way. Alone. You can alter the game settings to make it more accessible and then slowly as you gain experience you will probably want to join a multiplayer game. Keep at it. IF I can learn the game anyone can.

It toasts up during start up, but cools down. I actually you can stop the latpop doing that if you change power setting mode down to battery life instead of performance mode. there is no resulting lag with zomboid, doesn't cause issues, but keeps everything else in check.

I do find you can get a high fan speed joining the server but after 5 or 10 mins of loading everything it cools. Though higher player count servers can also get a bit of fan ramping.

Click on top general discussion, to go to the root (General) Discussion, on the right side you can see multiple other discussions, one of them being called Looking for Group.
