no more than a quarter of the bar remains.
it's a deep wound, too, so it's worse than a laceration.
i'm currently leveling my first aid stat by doing the barefoot broken glass trick, that's helping me to gain some levels.
i've been sleeping just fine, and i've made some meals that can best be described as taking the atomic option to my hunger.
it never goes above critical condition, as i keep reiterating, it's very inconvenient. :V
This is why you built that stocked base. Now you have the option to just give it lots of time and seeing how things develop.
If you have a deep wound on your neck, the moment you take it off you have 3 seconds to change bandage. That is not enough. (i seem to recall you need 7 or 8 seconds to fully bandage). You will die.
The most you can do is overfeed your character, and hope that this way you can get back to max health. If you are able to you need to have the bandage ready and very close and then you can initiate the bandage change. But even so i recommend to back up your save.
A deep wound will need about 2 weeks to heal without suture needle. And on the neck you likely will NOT HAVE ENOUGH time to use that needle and close the wound. So it will take a long while for it to heal completely.
for all of the people in the future who need the answer:
keep the original bandage on, keep your character fed, maybe take antibiotics if you have them.
stay hydrated, fed, and warm, and it will recover on it's own, even under the original bandage.
I gave the pessimistic answer:) A deep wound can heal from anywhere between a week to three weeks(though this only happened once!). If you have a suture needle and are able to tend to it, then it is healed in about 3-5 days.
At least that's the behavior I observed.
So right after waking up should be the best time to check the wound.
edit:
What happens in case a glass shard is embedded in the wound?
Does it still heal or do you need to remove it?
You need to remove them. Cant recall if you can bandage them or not with glass shards in it. (But if you can the wound will still not heal.) You can if i remember well now remove the shards with your hands too, but it will be troublesome as you likely will wound yourself doing that (unless you ahve leather gloves which will eventually be destroyed due to the glass shard picking out/up). The best thing to do is use tweezers, remove the shards and then bandage them. This is the way to heal this wound. Unles sit is also a deep wound cuz then you need suture needle as well.
my health was CAPPED AT CRITICAL.
There are some forage herbs that can help. But chances of you getting them, is dangerous.
it'll also be infected, so now would be a time for antibiotics if any
also start to eat until deep green all of your food supply. Maintain a nutritional moodling, and take the hot meal bonus aswell. Eat hot. Drink tea and coffee
drinking lots of alcohol may also help with the pain.
He already healed:)
The capped part is sadly not that accurate of a description. Because it means it stays there, but we do not know if it stays there permanently until you are healed, or just with your current wound your losses equal to your healing rate. So overfeeding and sleeping might still get you to max hp. It is a rare scenario but it indeed is possible. That is why capped has soft and hard cap:)
(Trying to outlive fever without antibiotics is a semi good example.)
PS: not a guy but yes, i have already healed.
