Helicopter event newbie
Er - this is my first time surviving long enough to get to the helicopter event and my radio is still reporting air activity being detected and we are into the second day. No huge hoards of migration like there was yesterday, but there are a few still determined stragglers. Is this normal?

Radio? Air activity? I never heard of that, is it a mod or some new feature I never heard of yet?

During the event, the helicopter calls every zed in a mile to your locations.
I move to a further location and it clears out the town I want to loot and sends the zombies into the woods where I 'was' with the helicopter flying overhead luring them to me.

ABES radio says "Air activity detected" on the day of the heli event. this is from the vanilla game, and is a good way to tell when the power will shut off

As a certified "Wiki goblin" I can say that the heli event shouldn't keep happening after the event day on default apocalypse, Do you have any mods at all, like the one that adds more to the heli event?

What I would say is better safe than sorry and just stay inside and keep your window curtains shut.

The heli event has never been a prediction of power shutoff in any of the games I have played since I started playing again recently.

Hunkering down during the heli event can be dangerous.

it wont predict power shutoff, but the chanel station can still keep you informed of other world events such as that

Do you have your helicopter event set to recurring by changing it to 'often' or 'sometimes'?
If not, it could be just a case of the game mistakenly repeating the message after the event. It usually gets triggered if you quit the game right after the event ends/during the event. The same as how you can sometimes watch the same Life and Living show twice by quitting the game right after the show ends.

Other than that, it could also be a random announcement that the AEBS channel tend to make months into the game. I'm not sure if this was my game bugging out or an actual thing though. Because the messages for the air activity were different from the one prior to a copter event.

I do not have it set to repeat. I suspect it has to do with quitting too close to the end of the event, though? It did stop repeating the air activity alert ... eventually.

Nah, I had food, water, entertainment and was upstairs. It seemed like the safest place to be.
(and the zombies opened my locked, windowless garage for me!)
The power shut off does get a radio alert now though.

I have mods, but nothing relating to the helicopter. Maybe later in my zombicidal career.

I wasn't going to head out into the hordes of zombies migrating past. Would anyone??

It is the best way to get rid of the zombies, to make the helicopter pull all the zombies to a different area AWAY from your base. I have had the game for 9 years, no reason to listen to me. LOL

So the Emergency Broadcast actually foretells the following things:
a) When the power is shut down (it will say something about a power plant or something that it is not working properly, cant recall the exact lines, but prolly pzwiki has it), about a day or two before it happens it will say this. However thereafter when exactly it happens is anyone's guess.
b) When the water is shut down(again it will say something about a water plant or something similar), again it will start to appear in the messages like 1-2 days before it happens.
C) Heli event. It will tell if it happens that day: Air Activity Detected.
However, the chopper event, as per my latest (so slightly outdated) experience happens after the 8:00 or 9:00 am broadcast, and it will ONLY mention it from there on out. So if you start your day early you might miss out the broadcast.

Also hunkering down does not allways necessarily work. For me it seemed that if i left the house on the day the Heli came, and went back in, and hid, the heli would stay and hover over me. Aka it did not have visuals on my character prior.

(I was talking to someone else, who thought they were giving helpful advice that I couldn't possibly have thought of)
