How many people use fire as a method to kill zombies?
Personally I never do as the abject fear of having everything with a 100-mile radius burn down to the ground has kept me from doing so, but it would be oh-so tempting to set a horde of hundreds of zombies on fire..

its cheesing imo , i never use it anymore, but sure is fun to do at least a few times.

just look for a big parking lot, so fire wont spread,
turn on a policecar-siren or shoot few times with a shotgun to pull everything to you.
only walk all the time in circles to gather them up into a big ball.
can either molotov them or ignite a pre-placed campfire and kite them over it.

then you have to kite a few ingame hours, before they die.
never panic or try running aorund/wasting your staming, just walking circles til the end.
its easy as that.

I have, and sometimes still do. Honestly the risk of burning everything down is quite small when you're smart about it. Just keep the zombro's all bunched up, make sure they don't start going into buildings, and try not to burn a group that's too big (unless you have something like a siren to keep their attention)

I agree with you on this and on what OP said about fire burning literally everything down. It has never been an option for me, but I'll probably try some things once fire is reworked in B42.

I've done it maybe 2 times just to try it. It always felt very cheaty to me, if I'm just going to bunch them all up with an ambulance and burn them I always felt like I may as well just turn zombies off.

I really don't like using fire.
It destroys all the loot zombies have on them for one.
The method also comes with risks so you're just playing with fire.

Though some of my info seems outdates.
I thought asphalt could also catch on fire.
Did they change that at some point?

Nope, asphalt can still set on fire. It seems to me like fire does spread slightly less aggressively than it used to? But I can't say that with any certainty

Fires boring AF and I reckon you may as well play on 0% zombie spawns if you need it to clear out your problems. But play however you want honestly.

I only tried it once and didn't enjoy it for several reasons. The big 3 were,
1: Felt pretty cheesy
2: no combat xp gained
3: doesn't count the kill towards my kills
I also dont use cars to kill zombies for similar reasons, even though it feels way les cheesy as cars can break and put you in danger

Not me lol fire is one thing that scares me in pz.

Molotovs in the grass is always fun for hordes.

I recognise the cheese this method provides. I have never used it but not for that reason.

Im a hoarder, a burned zombie is burned loot, i'll be damned if im letting half a pack of ciggies get away from me!

I'd do it all the time if it didn't take decades for the zombies to burn down.
Death Oct 3, 2023 @ 4:21am
Never. Not only does it potentially destroy good loot on zombies, there's a very real chance that you could burn down buildings. If I need to kill a massive amount of zombies, then I will stockpile shotgun shells and then go clearing with that instead.
