That being said I don't think it really matters that much. If anything its kind of nice to have an extra 2-3 hours of daylight in game.
Here in North Dakota it's similar Temps as in game for the summertime but when winter hits it's like -50 with blizzards
I felt that the summer in the game is fairly mild for Kentucky. Temps usually hit the high 90's (95-98 is very common) and sometimes even touch 100-102 (38-39C) for a few days or weeks. The highest I remember seeing was 104 (40C) though and that lasted for about 2-3 days. To make it worse the humidity at the time was also 90-95%. It was awful, the Governor was advising people to stay indoors with the A/C on. 6-7 months later the nighttime temps dropped to 15 (-9C) where I lived. Not the coldest I've felt, but pretty chilly for a place that gets summers that high.
Strangely enough, if memory serves me correctly...I think the winter of 93-94 (the first winter you'll encounter in game as a player) was in reality the one of the coldest winter's Kentucky has had.
