Why does evening start at 11pm?
its really odd looking at my watch when its fully bright out and it says something like 10pm. I dont know anywhere in north america where the sun sets later than like 9pm. Is there a way to adjust this?

In mid July it doesn't start really getting dark till around 9:30 ish. Not sure where you live, but that's how it is in most of the US.

Can confirm, Mid-south its dark by 8 pm right now. The latest time is late June and early July, with a sunset of ~8:15 pm.

That being said I don't think it really matters that much. If anything its kind of nice to have an extra 2-3 hours of daylight in game.

Can confirm, in early July in Kentucky you can still see outside after 9pm. Yes the sun has set, but there's still plenty of light to see. It's twilight, but not dark. Been that way ever since I was a small child.

Even the daily temperature averages are really accurate for KY. I was so scared I was going to die of hypothermia my first winter, but I'm from Minnesota :steamfacepalm:

Wish we could change the weather settings so the summers are the same but the winters are BRUTAL

Here in North Dakota it's similar Temps as in game for the summertime but when winter hits it's like -50 with blizzards

Iirc there's a mod for exactly that- Basically normal spring/summer/fall, then winter hits and is absolutely brutal. Fraid I can't think of the name off hand- But I bet it wouldn't be hard to find in the workshop.

Cryogenic Winter I think is what it's called.

I felt that the summer in the game is fairly mild for Kentucky. Temps usually hit the high 90's (95-98 is very common) and sometimes even touch 100-102 (38-39C) for a few days or weeks. The highest I remember seeing was 104 (40C) though and that lasted for about 2-3 days. To make it worse the humidity at the time was also 90-95%. It was awful, the Governor was advising people to stay indoors with the A/C on. 6-7 months later the nighttime temps dropped to 15 (-9C) where I lived. Not the coldest I've felt, but pretty chilly for a place that gets summers that high.

Strangely enough, if memory serves me correctly...I think the winter of 93-94 (the first winter you'll encounter in game as a player) was in reality the one of the coldest winter's Kentucky has had.

Yeah, it's hearing about how you guys are getting sh!t on that really makes Minnesota winters tolerable. :steamfacepalm: But this reminded me of the first time I heard about the Cherbourg map. I would love to see a community of modders grow around the idea of mapping the entire world for PZ. Maybe a partnership with Google/Maps or USGS. The closer you get to the equator, the hotter you get, and vice versa
