Help! my mini-map is gone!

My mini-map is gone, i cant open it with any menu, what do i do?

I have the same issue. I can bring up the full screen map, but the option to display the mini map no longer appears. It used to. I'm not sure what broke it.

Yes, that only brings up the full screen map. It USED to show 2 map icons when I would hover over it, and when I would click the farthest right one it would turn on/off the mini map, but now I only ever see the one map icon on the left, and clicking it just brings up the full screen map.

Creating a new game fixed the problem. Apparently my save game somehow got corrupted. Maybe from a mod or something? I'm not sure. To the OP, if you really want it back it looks like you'll have to start a new save lol.

you can install a mod that allows you to change settings in game

Go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid\Lua on your PC.
Open the layout.ini file
Edit the Minimap line and set visible=false to visible=true
Save and try loading the game again?
If that fails, try deleting the file instead.

hey i got the same issue and i did that already,
now ive beed digging and i found in the save file "map_sand.bin" a line "AllowMiniMap false"

which i edited to "true" but when i relaunch the save the map is still gone and when i open the file again its set back to false any idea ?

Right-click the file and go to Properties and mark Read Only. That means the information can only be read, not written (or overwritten).

Edit: I'm not sure if that will fix your problem, or if marking that file as read only will cause other problems, but at the least when you open and close the game the file will be the same as when you edited it.

yeah ive tried it does not work hmm im honestly a bit lost rn well if the gods dont want me to use the mini map in this save i guess i wont then haha
