Climbing tall fences is influenced by strength and fitness. You need to have (s+f) >= 4 to be able to reliably cross one of these obstacles, further influenced by the dynamics I mentioned above.
Vaulting low obstacles is influenced by your nimble score, and affected by the dynamics above. You can still leap a low fence at zero nimble, but your trip chance is a lot higher.
It is not locking up most likely, but you are releasing the jogging button(shift) to late, and by the time you release it your character will arrive at the fence and therefore the vaulting triggers. What i would suggest is to release SHIFT a lot earlier. Like 5-6 tiles afar, as your character should run a few tiles still before the character stops.
Secondly not sure if any options have been changed but you could have a look at the settings to see, that maybe something is enabled that you do not wish to have enabled.
K, 1.5k hours played here.
>bad at momentum
Yeah, whatever you say.
There is snapping problem. After you'll play long enough, you'll realise just how bad it is. I just did. So I ask if there's a way to disable it. Maybe a mod? Idk, anything.
It isn't purposeful. It's terrible. Many times I was running and my character, even though they weren't facing the fence, still decided to snap to it and jump over, tripping.
You being bad doesn't make it purposeless. Get better at timing or angling your run. Not once have I ever "snapped" to a fence when running alongside it.
Either way, skill issue. Hours are irrelevant. Plenty of people have high hours on games they're crap at.
you might want to change your keyboard, there clearly something wrong with yours
Yep. Several testings and all it does upon releasing shift+arrow is the character slows to a stop.
I'm not against adding a toggle per se, But I think it's a waste of the developers time; There's many other things that need doing before this thing that affects just a few people needs changing.
I see minor things like this as post-1.0 flavor updates.
Just don´t press shift...
Sometimes the W key tends to get stuck in some programs. Usually in ones where you use the W key to move the map to north for instance. (Like in TOB, allthough there A is more common to get stuck than W.)
No clue why, as the keyboard has no issues, but it seems either the program or windows tends to register it as being continuesly pushed. Usually repressing the W key or Tab and W key made it release and function normally again. No clue why, but i have not encountered this issue in a while, and i have never encountered it in PZ.
