Can you barricade the inside and outside of a window/door with planks AND a metal sheet?
Title. Never tried before tbh.

You can fully barricade both sides at once. However, You can't do a metal sheet and planks on the same side, only one or the other.

Overkill but yes. Barricades are about occasional lone zombies. If big groups start to get close to home, you should take them out or herd them away. Because if a big group hits a window, the extra barricade won't buy you much time.

I recommend tweaking player construction strength higher and if you'd like zombie strength lower. I think it makes it more realistic for what it would take to get through a barricade of that magnitude.

I weld a metal sheet inside and outside on windows. I feel safer. I only use wood if I have no access to metal working items

Well wood has four damage stages if you fully wooded it so you can get a rough estimate how secure it is with a sheet in the inside. You don’t really want to be replacing sheets or bars, you really want them on there as a one time. Don’t mind adding more planks. But the metal should be there as a final line of defense and should only get destroyed if you abandoned the place
