Nice, thank you. One of those mods I didn't even know I needed until I saw it.
indeed it is, refilling from the pump.
You'd be better of making a propane transport vehicle, with a huge supply, and maybe one of those can spawn at a gas station.
Realistically, you should be finding things like this in rural areas:

Maybe we can get this stuff underground. Or by making a special tool to connect to a gas oven. IDK ;)
Propane is a specific component, natural gas is a mix of a bunch of different combustible gases. Propane is more energy-dense, so used for mobile applications. NG is cheaper.
The reason you won't be able to get gas from the underground pipe network after some time is that the infrastructure that ensures pressure in those pipes won't last for too long, just like water and power.
But there should be enough places that have reservoirs of the stuff around to last us a long time. The picture I posted earlier is a residential tank used for home heating. They aren't uncommon in rural US where gas pipe network doesn't reach. People get a gas tanker truck come by periodically to fill it up. Just one of these should be enough for you for months.
oh thats interesting, how about the gas taps from a schools science lab?
No idea about those. Could be they are hooked up to the underground gas pipe network, which would make it natural gas. If it's connected to a gas cylinder, then it's most likely propane.
If I was designing it, I'd not have it hooked up to the gas network with its limitless supply, because kids and unlimited energy supply doesn't sound like a good combination. :)
