How to adjust character carrying weight? Where is it stored in the folder?
I accidentally died and respawned a character to retrieve my backpack, but the weight of my backpack is as high as 50, while the character can only carry up to 16. Since I can't open the backpack to access its contents without equipping it, is there any way to resolve this issue?:Clementine:

sure you can open your backpack and sort out the items inside on the ground.

So, the modded backpack allows you to carry up to 50 encumbrance but doesn't allow you to access its content while it's on the ground?

Sounds like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mod to me.

I've only edited many txt files to adjust the weight of items.

How can I open the backpack without equipping it? It seems like it doesn't allow me to open it in the unequipped state.

Also, I find the character's carrying capacity of only 16 too little. I want to increase it. Where is this value stored in the files?

Increase your strength. That's how you get more (max is 20). I don't believe you can mod the strength/carry weight gain.

Mod issue, moving on. Any vanilla backpack on the ground can be accessed, modded ones, well, modded and might not be.

Empty your inventory below 10 encumbrance, right click the backpack and equip it in your hands; You should be able to equip any heavy object, no matter how heavy it is, to your hands so long as you're below 10 encumbrance- And in so doing, you'll reduce the mass of the backpack, get it into your inventory, and from there should be able to equip it. If it still won't let you, drop EVERYTHING and then try.

For the record here, The character can carry 50 encumbrance. Straight up- That value of 16 you see is how much you can carry without injury; But even if that value was 1, you can still overload yourself to 50 anyway. And this is a hard coded limit- There's no place to change it. The closest some mods get to achieving an increase in carry weight is by setting your currently carried weight to negative numbers.

Drop it on the ground. It will be treated as a container like fridges, crates, what have you in the inventory screen.

If you can't do this, then you broke the game.

I've figured it out... It's because the backpack is on top of the corpse. I need to drag the backpack from the corpse to the ground first.
