Giving a set date leads to nothing but disappointment on both sides, so the devs won't give one.
This question crops up every week, so the search function should give you the same answer.
lol jk I hope it comes out soon but we must give these big brains time to make calculations
a great wiki actually!

But here we are. It has become normal for a single build to take years. I don't get why development has slowed down so much considering the game's success. Can't they just split their builds into smaller ones like the old times? Release the performance update first, then the crafting system, then the animals etc. I mean, like most early access games do.
Wish they'd do it like this TBH, instead of just a huge content drop. With the game blowing up like it did. I wouldn't want to lose the momentum it gained with a huge content draught. We got a lot of modders pausing projects and leaving broken mods up on the workshop as they wait for B41 also. I walked away from game for 8 months in hopes that it would be announced by now, at least a general idea, but nothing.
I also think a lot of the "dev worship" causes a lot of issues too. It's too much black and white thinking. You voice your concern like this? Expect a few people to be complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to you. I think people form parasocial relationship with smaller companies, but in the end we are the consumer, and they are the company, it's the same relationship you'd have with any other purchase you make. Now people insulting them is irrational, but I think it's completely valid to voice your concern and not have 10 fan boys screaming at you to "LET THEM COOK!" it serves no purpose other than to silence criticism. It's far too common in games now. Two ends of the coins the angry gamer sending hate and then the shining white knights defending anything that isn't nothing but praise.
Also anyone giving a date is just shooting the dark. No one knows, it's all just guessing. A broken clock can be right, but it doesn't mean they actually knew. Can't tell you how many people go "Next month!" on reddit only for nothing to happen.
