Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid

I want to open a dedicated server and play using my account and allow my friends to play
I set up a computer with intel xeon and 32gb ram to store files and host some games. But I have some obstacles, for example I don't have access to the router to port forward and I don't have a static ip.

To make a zomboid server that I can leave running 24/7 just for my friends and me to play, all the tutorials point out that I need a static ip and port forward.

I read some things about ip tunneling and saw that there are a lot of open source tools to work around this problem but it's all very confusing and I don't know what would be the best option. For example there are programs Tunnelmole, Telebit, frp, ngrok, sshuttle, rathole, tunnelto, boringproxy, etc.

Tomorrow I'm going to contact the internet provider to try to get a static ip and everything, but I don't think I can because I'm a small town provider.

Can anyone guide me how to proceed? I believe this will even serve to host other games as well.

You can use a proxy such as:
https://playit.gg/

Or a VPN:
https://vpn.net/

The guides on how to set them up are on the specific websites, then you simply just use the IP assigned to the PC as the join IP
