it took me a week to find a hammer

That kind of thing just cracks me up about this game. I've spent days looking for things like can openers that you'd think were common. Don't ask me why but I actually sort of like it this way

I remember scouring the damn earth to find a kitchen knife and a griddle pan, once. It was my job to set up a nice kitchen area in the house, so I began picking through houses near the base, there was a lot of them, but could I find a kitchen knife or griddle pan? Naw!

I don't think I found one until I visited another town, lol. It was a modded town so possibly had its own loot rarity settings active, but still.

The last time I got screwed out of something I was looking for was my last campaign, we did a Ten Years Later playthrough and my friend could not find himself a car battery charger and as for me, I could not find a propane torch to save my life, lol.

A) Does not help sadly if the game selects hammer as the ultra rare item:D
Took me once for a Normal hammer 1,5 months to get one. (No ball hammers or mallets or anything:( )
Good thing you can make stone hammers.-> is how i coped.

B) Cashiers(Shops, gas stations etc.), and events currently. There is a poker night event where you can find money. Also sometimes in bars, if there was poker nights.

Try the back of a white van.

I admit the claw hammer can be a pain sometimes.

Hammers now degrade with usage. So the stone hammer is pretty crappy, But foraging for a stone and a branch is another way.

But the claw hammer lets you take down barricades so its kind of important and distinct. Sure it could be rarer to locate in LV. So i would focus on breaking into the backs of white vans, yellow vans with writing on them, look in the back of pickup trucks etc. Especially grey ones.

There are some tool shops, but if its LV may not be safe to just go and do stuff on a whim. But if you had a vehicle driving around for those vans in the big open car parks will turn up something.

judging from location, did you check the construction site that is usually a hotbed for hammers. You are caged up in a safe area

this district is enclosed, will be dangerous. the houses lack utility cupboards so yeah hammers are tricky here. But you are looking for survivor homes aswell.

best bet is the brown building here

There is also the storage lot nearby, if he did not check it yet, also a completely good place to extend his base too later on:)

(sadly i never had a chance to visit any of these places, as if i spawn in Lville it is get the hell out ASAP:D)
