EPIC GAMER SURVEY 4!?!??!?!?!?!!!!!!!!11!!!//1/!?!??!!?1/!?
I know its a bit early to post another one of these, but im listening to New Vegas Radio, and Blue Moon really makes me wanna write something, so you get another extra!

Today (other) Question:
How long do you usually survive for? And be honest, no judging here!

[A] 1-7 days
1-4 weeks
[C] 1-6 months
[D] 6-12 months
[E] 1+ years

Me personally I'm not very good at surviving, so im usually A/B. Go ahead and post your (correct!) answer in the comments!

Mostly A. lol.
I can survive longer depending on the game mode.
That complacency always kicks in after playing in a save file for a while.
Or irl stuff coming at a bad time and ends up killing my survivor.

My best record is still one month and I still can't top that.

Usually D and I'll either suicide for a new character, start a new map, or quit and take a vacation from the game.

It's D for me. Around the 6 month mark I start to get bored and start taking chances that I know are likely to get me killed.

B, the gameplay loop of this game for me is constantly looting stuff to throw onto a pile and purging local areas of all population so surviving for months is off the table

Probably could if I wanted to, but why would I?
E. In my opinion, the key to a long life in PZ is to never be in a hurry. Design your character and base around this concept. Start by making sure you always have enough food and water in a location where zombies don't spawn in high numbers (rural but close to a town so you can loot). So long as food and water are secure and stable, why would you be in a hurry? Yeah you need some basic skill books and leveling (carpentry for example) but after you have the basic tools/seeds/books you can take your time. Current play through is 1 year and seven months, 16,400ish zed kills. If you're new, I suggest focusing on combat and how to clear structures of zed. Pro tip - turn the volume up and the music off. Unless you're driving, you'll hear zombies before you see them. That includes zombies on the other side of a door or on another building level. You can hear their labored breathing...

C

At a minimum I survive for 1 month but longest I've lived was 8 Months. I kinda gave up on the save due to frustration on a project not going the way I want it and just deleted the save

You can easily survive out of fishing/trapping + farming, which is pretty easy, on the top of that a lot of people play with no zombies respawns. You don't need anything special to survive for years, lvl 1 trapping and farming is enough, fishing is extra if you know how to use trapping.
If you combine both, trapping/farming with no zombie respawns, you can have a game that lasts for decades with absolutely no hassle at all.

No, i will not, because that's the point. The answer doesn't matter, anybody can play different character with different play styles and purposes, that's what truly changes on how much that character can live for your playthrough, not just a metric of time based on nothing.
