I see, so that+thick skinned is the best I can do without slowing myself down, correct?
make sure to get tailoring level 10 and sow those leather patches on all of it for an extra 10% bite and 20% scratch protection then thats the best you can do. side note i don't think the speed modifiers actually do anything in the game, i remember people saying it was disabled because it lead to players not being able to move and having no idea why and i don't think it was ever re enabled
For starters, because I'm a noob and I ♥♥♥♥ up.
Second, because the combat in this game is whaky and often my character doesn't seem able to target a zombie quickly enough that I know is right on the other side of the door. I know that my firefighter gear saved me from A LOT of zombie attacks and I'm not comfortable going for 0 armor.
But lets say you dont have time or skill to patch effectively. Like most characters in most games. At the start of the game. What shall i grab ? or what shall i bring with my character?
Well my answer and it may no the best answer i would say avoid obvious gear. Avoid the Police costume, and fire gear.
I personally have had good luck with the full Suit. This is the shirt, tie, jacket, suit pants, and tie. It seems once the entire outfit is on, yeah you will still see other item of cloth that says +10 defence and stuff in green highlight. But for me the Suit Tie, Jacket, T-Shirt and Vest has given me rips on zombie attack more than most other clothes.
Leather Gloves are pretty good have worked before.
Things like scarf are pretty good have worked for me before.
Shirt, Tshirt, Vest, Suit Jacket, Suit Pants and a nice tie.
Poncho is one to try. Poncho and Apron if its possible. I think it is. It was once.
Aside that. if you ever lucky enough Leather pants exist. you have to go clothes shopping for them though they will not spawn wild as far as i know. You can get some nice leather jackets in the wild.
I have had luck with Denim that is Denim Jacket, and Denim Jeans.
My fav are Rain Boots. with farmer occupation you can bring Rainboots of any chosen colour, Otherwise the most common are greens blacks and greys. I found also the Long black gloves that you see on rich female zombies.
Though the Mechanics overalls are not that good, they may upgrade with patches pretty well in time. Since its a one piece suiit. Its actually pants and jacket, but you can have tshirt and vest aswell.
Its a difficult question to be honest with you there isnt a clear answer. Motorcycle helmet is 100/100 i believe but you'll need the full leathers to really make it work.
When you have level 10 in tailoring and put leather patches on every article of clothing this is the best armor set you can get:
*Leather Jacket (long version that covers the groin)
*Skinny/Black Leather Trousers
*Denim Shirt
*Diamond-pattern Sweater (only sweater to protect the neck)
*Hawaiian Shirt
*Leather Gloves
*Long Johns (full body. Not the bottoms)
*Long Sleve T-shirt
*Long Socks
*Boots of your choice (Military Desert boots offer the least insulation)
*Apron
*Helmet (Riot, Military, anything really with 100 protection)
*Scarf (blue has the least insulation)
*Tank Top
With this set of clothes and max tailoring the most exposed part of your body is your hands with 25% bite protection. The neck has 40% protection. The shins have 50% bite protection. Every other part of the body has between 70-100% Bite protection
Military pants offer the same level of protection as Jeans while being cheaper to repair and have no negative speed modifier. However, Overalls protect more of your body than Military Pants but, have a speed modifier. Whichever your pick is up to you.
The long variety of Leather Jackets offer really good protection coverage for a single piece of clothing. They're always something you'll want to grab.
Best hand protection is the Leather glove. Best shirt is the Denim Shirt. Any helmet is good to wear. Grab a scarf when able. Bullet proof vests also give a good boost to your chest.
Imagine long johns, long sleeve tshirt, leather pants, leather jacket, motorcycle helmet and scarf, leather gloves. long socks
