White Display Counter, bugged?
===========
== UPDATE ==
This update is using vanilla settings in debug mode to spawn items and speed up time for food decay.

"White Display Counter" = the 3x50 fridge storage, typically in grocery stores holding meat.

DETAILS:
1) Inventory calls it "Display Case", where other refrigerators are labeled "Fridge".
2) Generator does not indicate it is consuming power.
3) Food placed in it will go bad at the same speed as food sitting in a players main inventory (tested against refrigerated food which was still good at the time).
4) Food placed in it will turn blue, despite not refrigerating.
5) Wiki lists this as refrigerating (not an in game problem, but indication of further confusion)

Either points 1-3 are behaving incorrectly, or point 4 is.

=================
== ORIGINAL POST ==

I tested all the refrigerators just now (except 2 color variants of the regular fridge I didn't find), trying to find their power consumption.

When testing "White Display Counter", it wouldn't show up on the generator powered items list, The total power consumption for the generator was listed as if it wasn't there. It did make the food blue like a normal fridge (I believe it's a mod that does the color change).

To test, I tried with the "White Display Counter" connected with a group of many refrigerators, and then paired with a generator and absolutely noting else (went far out into a field). I tried both setting up the "White Display Counter" first, and the generator first. But the results were the same.

Two things I didn't test: 1) with turning off mods. 2) testing to see if spoilage time is the same as any other refrigerator. I just didn't have time, and am up far later than I should be. But wanted to report this for awareness.

Do they preserve at differnt rates? Well its not crazy to suspect this

because some Ovens, cook at differnt rates. Some ovens i mean cook meal variety at the same rate. I mean. a Stew can cook at the same rate as a Fry. On some ovens. The shiny ones.

Display counter assuming you mean the ones at a butcher shop not sure.

Which one is White Display Counter again? I'm fairly certain the counters don't refrigerate foodstuff put in there nor do they consume power. Except for the big-ass display refrigerator you can find in Gigamarts. That one is counted as refrigerator after all.

You can find it by name here. "White Display Counter" is grocery store meat deli displays.

What indicates it is fridge-tier cooling (not to be confused with freezing-tier):
- The wiki page
- Food in it turns blue *
- When looking at the inventory of the object, it's labeled "Fridge" *

What indicates it's not cooling:
- Generator doesn't list it as a power consuming item. *

* Mods could be changing things, but that wiki page isn't mod based. I don't have mods that add furniture/appliances. A mod (maybe "Better Sorting" or "Alternative Inventory Rendering") MIGHT cause the fridge to color items blue based on temperature (i think this is a mod). Some other inventory mod MIGHT cause the inventory to be labeled fridge/freezer (i think this is vanilla though). I do have a mod that calculates remaining generator time that could be messing up the displayed info.

Fridges preserve at one speed, and freezers at another. I've seen nothing to indicate that different fridges preserve differently, and while it's fair to assume they preserve the same, I'm just trying to be fair in what i rule out as "possibility".

Tested in dev mode with all mods turned off. It turns out * things mentioned that mods might be impacting, were all vanilla, including items turning blue when placed in a fridge/freezer.

Oh yeah, those ones. I don't recall them ever refrigerating any food placed inside either. I guess this is more of a display bug than a functional one? The wiki can sometimes be wrong too considering the game's constant changes.

yep, the wiki was just mentioned. it's certainly not the devs responsibility to worry about it.

the blue highlight suggest to me that it's likely it once refrigerated (even if that never made it into a public release), and was accidentally left in the game,

IRL, these display shelves are typically chilled. By either typical chilling or by laying on a bed of ice. The later of which wouldn't use power, but would also be temporary.
