Increasing generator capacity? (MP)
How do I increase their fuel capacity through vanilla settings/mods in multiplayer? It's ridiculous that we can't seem to have a set up that allows us to move away from our base without having to run right back to refill generators or leave someone there to tend to it.

its not the generator settings i think its more or less how fast time in game is set too. if 24 hours is 30 minutes realworld then its going to go quick if its 2 hours real time for one day you have a full night/day cycle to go, also depends on how much ♥♥♥♥ you have plugged in

Based on what I understand about MP settings, it works the same way as single player's sandbox settings. And in sandbox settings, there's a "Generator Fuel Consumption" option you can change. Maybe check if it's there? You can change the multiplier to 0.x depending on how much slower the fuel consumption you want it to be.

Out of curiosity, is it possible you have a plethora of appliances and lights left on when leaving your base?

I currently have a setup of 1 Generator powering 1 Fridge; 2 Lights. It has ran continuously without my attention for the past 6 days.

I've gone ahead and installed the solar array mod since it adds an incentive to developing the electrical skill. I want to avoid messing with the game's balance settings as much as possible since I don't want to get bored of playing a game that's become too easy. Still open to further suggestions from anyone who has them.

Project zomboid has a sandbox mode that lets you tailor small details like this to your liking, sandbox is the main mode really and as long as you have self restraint you can adjust the settings in a balanced way. With the sandbox you make the game much easier or much harder than normal default settings. IMO the default settings are way too easy and I make the game harder in sandbox and with mods like calm before the storm and ten years later, ect.

I thought that after you get x amount if tiles from your base the generator stops consuming fuel.
