Stuck on initializing on coop server
basically just stuck on the initializing screen, wont progress further whatsoever

Initializing generally means that the server is setting itself up, downloading mods and so on, it should not be cancelled. Did you perhaps enable any mods for the server?

all good, restarted the game a few times, verified files, worked out in the end :)
