Reloading nerfed after level 5?!
I am grinding Reloading to get ready for my first anniversary party at the Riverside School. I found a 30 round clip for the M16 and it was giving me 12+/- XP for every reload (unloading clip gives 0 XP). Suddenly, after reaching level 5, I am getting less than 2XP for each reload! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2943012156 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2943012252 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2943011981
Each of these screenshots are after a full 30 round reload. From 9 XP to 12? W the actual F?! :steamfacepalm:

Yes. Both aiming and reloading get a nerf to xp gain at level 5. This is because the stat gains from leveling (as in the bonuses given to the player for using firearms) rapidly increase past that point.

You can think of level 5 as actually being able to use a gun, more akin to level 1-2 in melee weapons.

At least thats how I've always explained it.

Does Reloading scale differently if I'm actually shooting zombies vs sitting on my bedroom floor?

Should be the same. Sitting in your base unloading/reloading should be the best way to level the skill atm.

M16 magazine is still the best for this.

How did it drop to 10% of the last level?

The bonuses are actually static and linear, being the exact same for each level, its just some guns go from garbage to godly once they reach a certain point, double barrel shotguns for example start at 80 crit, and gain +4 every level, so at level 5 they are essentially guaranteed to crit if you dont have any negative modifiers like panic interfering.

What you were talking about and what I was talking about are two different topics tho?

The exp you get is the same regardless of the situation, but the amount is as already explained. It's reduced from level 5 and above. What I was talking about was about the safest and most efficient way to grind exp.

There are firearms skill books mod in workshop. SImilar to other skill books.

Also, if you plan on firearms run, start with police officer and b41 firearms mod, it's an "improved" vanilla, not a gun porn palooza like Brita.
