Otherwise it'll be something like a truck or the big box van. Storage trumps everything else, in my opinion. If I needed mobility or stealth I'd just go on foot.
So in my current run, I'm relying pretty heavily on a Wrungel with a storage trailer. Both are AutoTsar mods I think. The massive storage of the trailer and the offroad power of the Wrungel combines pretty good. And use the Vehicle Repair Overhaul mod to give a vehicle proper care.
The four seater,
And the two seater.
The four seater has good handling. Nice amount of room. Good pulling power for the tow.
The lowest tier sport has less pulling power for the tow.
The two seater has the highest pulling power for the tow. And it’s a pleasure to tow in it! And you’ll need to because it has no space in the vehicle itself.
Sports cars are the best cars. Hands down.
But since a sport car is rare. Other best option must be considered -
1. Ranger vehicle
This is a derestricted police car. I can access all 4 seats from the front. And you get the siren.
2. Delivery truck
This the one with huge capacity in the back. Out performs the pickup truck because of the ability to install back doors! So the trunk isn’t damaging so fast.
Sorry I don’t memorise the names of the vehicles just know about how they look.
Though it’s been suggested running zombies over there isn’t a suitable car for it. Because you screw yourself on repairs. In the base game I would say no vehicle is good at or performs well in running zombies over.
Also as a neat little thing, you can see the front / back storage racks fill up with small backpacks (vanilla ones too, hiking backpack and duffelbag, maybe others) as you fill them up to capacity, so you can tell at a glance if there's still loot inside the quad from a distance...neat feature, I think.
Only real flaw it has is it can't tow, so no trailers...but trailers would slow it down and make it less manoeuverable, it's not designed for mass looting but more for scouting or hitting small locations like gas stations and convenience stores that are located on the outskirts of a town. Also good for making trapping, fishing or foraging trips.
I guess the fact it can't be armoured up and protected from zombie attacks is an issue, just don't ram zombies or try driving through crowds if your engine isn't in tip-top shape because if it cuts out you're probably dead, but yeah.
Some people don't like bikes because the game isn't really designed to handle them I guess, so the quad bike is a nice stop-gap between the two, it handles like a bike but it feels like driving a car...it's one of my favourite vehicles, I always have the mod active and I always recover them when I see them.
2) Chevalier D6 as an all-purpose vehicle.
the main advantage of these cars is that they all are 2-doors. I play with sprinters, tough, superhuman, random hearing\sight\memory. so judging by my experience 4-doors ones require more caution from a player. imagine that you have to get into your car right now, but second seats are occupied by stuff. and to 'miss' a door is a common thing.
Dart and Horizon on the other hand have a massive advantage of being 2-doors while having 4 seats. not only you can't miss a door, but you have a second 'trunk' on your arms reach. it is SO cool! the only two flaws of those cars are that a) their performance on a dirt road is terrible and b) their engine is too weak to move a car hulk off a road.
the main advantage of D6 is it's engine sound. it's rather pleasant and not that that overwhelming and deafening like in a Bulldriver or a Van or a Franklin All-Terrain. there are some strange 'cracking' sounds (might be gear box?) but still it's much, much better that 'turbodiesel tank engine' sound of the other heavy-duty vehicles.
the 2-doors advantage is still there. so it's a perfect pick for a main vehicle.
Those, or the trucks with open trunk.
Also, necro on a thread with banned OP?
But it's the same as with weapons or clothing, know what you plan to do and use the right thing for the job you are doing.
The Franklin, only ever found one in my vanilla runs.
Dash Bulldriver comes as close second. Its a two-seater with massive trunk and strong engine, which combined with relatively low mass of the vehicle itself makes it the best for pulling other vehicles around. It's also pretty common, and "branded" service Bulls come with Performance parts and in good shape. A compact and reliable companion for the solo survivor, that moves heaps of things around without being a giant metal brick.
Chevalier Cossette is the best sportscar. It is extremely fast, compact and nimble, albeit an uncommon find. It requires driving skill to use safely, as there's nothing that will kill you faster (i.e. instantly) than riding this beast into a tree or any other solid obstacle near full speed. As long as you know what you're doing and you've cleared the way ahead of time, nothing will get you from point A to point B faster than this one.
