Depends on the size of the rabbit in question. It being stale won't cause you any problems, but how much you consumed will. For small things like a vegetable or a slice of pizza, even when rotten with a Weak Stomach, you'll usually fight off the sickness before it causes you too much damage, so long as you don't eat too much at once.

Not sure exactly how many hunger points of rotten or raw food it takes to do you in, though. I ate a whole rotten pizza once and it completely screwed my character over, no chance of survival.

A whole raw rabbit might be too much for your character to fight off, anyway. Rabbits vary in size and thus food value, so...can't really say if your character is toast or not. Was it the WHOLE rabbit or just like, 1/4 of it?

If you have any lemongrass, now would be a good time to eat it!

Lemongrass counters sickness, and eating till full will boost recovery assuming you don't eat more rotten/stale/poisonous foods.

Weak stomach + stale raw meat = "This is how you died."

Yea just eat it afaik, but to be sure, maybe wait a little between each time you eat one. In a very old code I saw something I didn't understand about a buff from eating lemongrass whichs duration differs depending on the stomach trait.

Antibiotics only safeguards against infected wounds I think, not zombie infection but just infections in general...I think if you take it, it can prevent infections from forming on wounds, but that's only really a minor issue because right now infections don't do much at all + you can remove infections in minutes by just disinfecting them. Don't quote me on that though because I'm not 100% sure...but I've never needed to use antibiotics in game at all thus far in like 500 hours.

Sickness will kick in fairly quickly, you'll see a Queasy moodle pop up after a minute or two (guess it might depend on your play speed settings) as your sickness needs time to build up, and moodles won't appear until it reaches certain thresholds. You shouldn't begin taking damage until you reach the "Nauseous" moodle though, which should only be doing a little bit of damage, usually this can be ignored but you'll take some damage before the sickness stops building up, so be careful if you're already wounded.

If you reach "Sick" you're probably going to die or suffer some extreme damage, you probably need lemongrass at this point to survive. If you reach "Fever" though you're likely dead no matter what. Depends how much sickness you've still got in your system.

But yeah sorry for the tl;dr...sickness begins building up immediately, slowly going up from 0.0 to 1.0 (I think) and you'll notice you're sick at 0.25 when the "Queasy" moodle appears, but you don't begin taking damage until like 0.4 or something like that, with more damage per tick the higher it goes from this point. Sickness will keep rising based on how much bad food you've eaten...but it usually stops before it gets too bad...unless you've consumed a large portion, anyway.

I think. I'm not 100% sure on the exact details but it's something like that anyway. Again, sorry for the tl;dr :ImGhost:

That's incredibly weird, I ate the rabbit meat at morning and was waiting for the sickness to get me but i somehow didn't get sick. Its already night time and im still not sick. Still, thank you for the help. I should probably not fast foward while smoking and transfering raw rabbit meat into the oven next time. Idk how i did manage to eat raw rabbit meat despite just moving it to the oven

Sounds like you got lucky, just like my little sister...who decided at 10y she would hide in the closet to eat raw beef...

I fear for her.

Anyway, yeah just don't do that again.

I managed to eat a rotten raw dead rat once while cleaning out a garage I was planning on moving into, still don't know exactly how I managed that, but it killed my character lol. Sometimes you just get handled by the game :winter2019joyfultearssnowman:

Maybe it was only a small rabbit. I think raw stuff is a lot safer to eat than rotten stuff, and if it was a butchered rabbit instead of a whole rabbit, skin and bones and guts and all, then it was probably even better. Of course, a rotten + raw piece of meat would probably double up the effects and wreck you, maybe.

I guess it counted as a single raw food item, which are usually pretty safe to eat - I've eaten plenty of raw chicken and raw steak on characters before, even with Weak Stomach, though I don't recommend doing it unless your character is starving lol, I'm just lazy.

Glad your character survived though :stronk:

Yeah the rabbit was butchered, man that was almost a sad way to end for my character. Thanks for the help

my worst death was drinking spoiled water from a poodle on ground
while working on my cars in my base.
had a sofachair and a water dispenser in the open next to the cars
to get some rest/water while working overloaded/overheated on the cars.
one muscle memory rightclick gone wrong and instead of resting on the sofachair i drank water from the ground i instantly pressed ESC so i only drank like "nothing".
still died.
