You can stop a VHS mid play and you won't get anything from the sections you watched but do gain XP from sections you haven't watched yet
I take it the boredom reduction from the entertainment ones that don't increase skills is gone after the first viewing as well. I get that it's a balancing issue, but honestly the VHS tapes should at least reduce stress or unhappiness as well. As it is, other than the skills, they aren't that good, considering what you have to do to even watch them in the first place.
Are you sure? I think watching it on tv in the early game makes it so you've seen the episode and the VHS tape gives you nothing.
Also doesn't make much sense to me that the tapes don't reduce boredom almost indefinitely. I get that they don't give xp every single time that would be broken. But re-reading the same book or watching the same tv show or movie seems pretty realistic to me. I've watched lord of the rings probably 20 times and it gets better every year while modern Hollywood gets worse.
And while we're on the subject, sort of, they should make it so reading newspapers gives you some of the Knox infection lore or put the news on at a different time of day. I'd like to get the game's minimum of story but I'm not going to trade flavour for life and living XP. Ever.
You either watch the show or the VHS afaik. You cannot double up on xp this way.
Regarding the reduction of boredom no clue. (Just go outside for 5 minutes and problem solved:D)
