Build 42 and 43 when?

Usually we get a Build each year but Build 41 is since 2020 in development how long you gonna keep us wait?
Do you really want me to play Zomboid in full version when i hit my 70th birthday or what?

When it's ready.

Build 41 was the biggest change to the game and its codebase to date, so naturally, it took the longest. It didn't land on the unstable branch until the end of 2021.

Just like all the builds before, 42 will land on the beta branch and reside there for a good while before making its way to the stable branch.
Nobody wants it out more than we do, considering this is our living. We do not get any enjoyment out of not having people playing it, but it has to be ready to be played.

That's the right attitude for creating masterpieces. Wish there were more developers with this mindset, especially in the "AAA" industry.

Personally I already got more mileage out of this game than I paid for.
It can only get even better if they're investing more development time into it, so there's no need to rush things.

The vast majority of players joined when the MP update went public.
Did you really possess the game for a decade?

In real life though, you did in fact pay for Early Access, and judging by how much work is left for the game, you should have been aware that you'll be playing an unfinished game for quite some time. But that's exciting to me. We get to watch the devs piece this puzzle together to create one of the best simulations available in gaming

Edit: also if you really want the npcs there are mods for them. But those mods won't be as smooth as the npcs made by the devs, i'm sure
