Remote play together issue

First, how do you end splitscreen mode when player 2 logs off? rn when player 2 leaves, i'm stuck with splitscreen until I close the game.

Second, whenever I start up remote play together, the progress between when it starts, and when it ends gets reset.
Its as if anything the remote player does is not saved? If they drive me somewhere, the next time I restart the game, I will be back where I was before they drove me.

As you said, you have to restart the game when player two quits, thats how it works at the moment.
Secondly, are you perhaps playing on a server? Since servers specifically have split screen issues at the moment, meaning it is not recommended to play in split screen on servers right now.
