How to remove fire from on going game

So I cannot put out fire because who knows no option to put out fire when right clicking and zomboid decided to overwrite my backup save so how do I remove fire from on going singleplayer game?

I have fire extinguisher equipped but nothing. I have water bottles with me but nothing

Have you tried right-clicking said fire and selecting "extinguish" at all? Haven't had to deal with any myself - had a generator explode once, but the fires died out before I needed to use a fire extinguisher..

Try rightclicking the fire directly and then it should show up. If it does not, do you have any mods enabled? Some of them may mess with the function.

You often need to have a pot of water. teeechnically a full bottle of water can work, but odds are you've taken a sip and it won't work. you will only get ONE circle of anti fire as it will use ALL your water. i'm not sure about the extinguisher.

If it's a LARGE area on fire, go far enough away the area unloads, then come back when it's raining.

Seems like bottles aren't full and I guess the fire extinguisher while not empty isn't having enough to actually work.

On bright side seems like PZ didn't touch my backups it just saves the image into memory (or separately from save) and displays that over whatever save file it happens to match instead of having the image being part of the save file so I wrongly assumed it had done something with my backups
