key rings... why are we able to lose these?

no it was not put in a container it was dropped when i tried to drop a bad to sort stuff and it was despawned... it may be mod related but how many updfates has it been and you can still loe these and never make another without mods?

I've literally never lost my keyring, Ever. Even with like 150 mods loaded atm.

You have to purposefully do things to lose it, as simply being in your inventory it's auto-equipped and sorted under your equipped gear; and isn't dropped by transfer all because of that. Key rings also aren't in the trash removal filter by default; So the only way it gets deleted is if you added key rings to that, or a mod you picked did.

More importantly though, you can rarely find blank keyrings on zombies now- So even if you lose your key ring, You can get a key ring to replace it. You just dont get the keys you lost...And frankly, like any other bag you might ostensibly lose, Losing it was more your fault than the games. If you dont want it leaving your inventory, favorite it, Just like literally everything else you dont want leaving your inventory. It's the whole point of the favorite system.

Personally, I'm never lost my keys. I have a few hrs booked.
Never seen anybody who lost it, and I'm playing since the release of b39.
Fix this, bc 1 out of millions can't use the favorite system?

Because last time i played i wanted to dismantle watches on a pile of zombies. I did dismantle all and my clock on screen disappeared.

That was a bug; Equipped items aren't supposed to be considered for dismantle/rip all. Been fixed for quite awhile.

But, generally speaking, Yes, Anything you want on your character 24/7 with no risk of losing to your mistaken storing/dropping/trashing/dismantling/etc, Favorite it. It may not be considered for auto-dismantle anymore, but that doesn't stop you from accidentally drag-dropping it, or right clicking to set alarm and clicking dismantle on accident instead.

You can find key rings on zombies and in houses now, they seem to be quite common.

if you lose your KEY RING you cant store keys easily and since you cant craft or re-equip a KEY RING your limited to storing keys in other bags that wont let you use them without pulling them out every time.

you know really bugs me about this? the fact that you think it works just fine even if you cant replace a simple key ring is hilariously bad. can you relax with the fanboy mindset for 5 minutes?

It's fine because there were nobody crying about this since years.
And because you can prevent this by favorite your keyring.
The game is not written for you. It's ok for millions, they won't and they don't need to change it to fit for you.

It's dumb ez to mod the game. Go to the files and fix it for yourself, since it's bugging only you.

In all my 9 years of playing I have never had this be an issue. Are you flavoring your keys?

Uhm, Did you miss my comment? You can't craft a key ring, but you can find them on zombies and in loot. And just by entering your inventory, they auto-equip- that's why you can't equip it. You can't have a keyring in your inventory without it being equipped..It's already equipped at that point.

You milage may vary if loot despawn is on either in SP sandbox or MP, but the default removal list is only maggots, glasses, and hats. It takes 24 hours for these to despawn.

I leave it on because of all the glasses I knock off zombies, but I keep losing My glasses to it too because I always forget when I trip or a zombie grabs me it can knock em loose :(

But yeah, Keyrings arent included by default. In fact, most things you wouldn't want to despawn, do not in fact despawn.
