HELP, Black Screen After Character Creation while hosting a world

are you playing for the first time or been messing with mods?

Does it only happen when hosting a coop game? Are you able to join any servers?

I suggest checking your graphics card drivers, I had this issue due to a update that was awaiting.

I am not currently running mods, this happens when hosting an online server. I just updated my graphics card and I am checking if it helps. This issue has persisted for a couple days now.

Can you share your logs.zip file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?
You can use any file-sharing website of your choice or a temporary one like tmpsend.com for example.

Try going to your Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -cachedir=C:\Zomboid > Start the game and try loading a new server again, just to see if this helps. Since there seem to be some issues with the User account possibly.

It's still a black screen, I'm going to uninstall and reinstall the game, see if that works.

I reinstalled it and the same problem arises. Regardless if there are more possible solutions, I would like to mention that I appreciate for your patience and taking the time to help me with this silly situation. Thank you.

Yeah unfortunately it does seem like this would be a bug on our side, at this moment I do not think we have anything for you to try and fix the issue. If we do find anything soon then we will write here.

I fixed this simply by running the game as administrator.
