there are several weapon mods, id say check a few of the bigger ones out before making a decision
- Clear description for Moodles: to give you a good idea of how they affect you wthout constantly looking up the wiki (did you know that the first tier of tiredness, Drowsy culls your melee damage by 50%?);
- More Description for Traits: base game doesn't do a good job of communicating what a lot of traits even do (some even do outright nothing or have incorrect descriptions);
- Weapon Condition Indicator: base game does not have any so you have to check them in your inventory to gauge them;
- Backpack Borders: a lot of duffel bags are so black that they are hard to see in the UI, this mod makes it tolerable;
- Reorder Containers - Backpack Orders: allows you to drag various containers up and down in the UI for convenience;
- Map Legend UI: maps you find in the world have descriptions of what each color code means but the actual player map doesn't;
- Fuel Side Indicator: to know on which side of the car is its gas tank;
- Change Sandbox Options: allows to do that mid-game instead of only when starting a new one;
These are the mods I'd consider essential as they simply offer QoL or offer clarity to things that the game does not communicate. I have more recommendations but they are not what I would consider 'must-haves' so I won't lengthen this post any longer. Hope you enjoy this game! I certainly do.
As for when you are beyond that stage, only add simple QoL mods at first, and look for light modded vanilla servers
