Also take time out, I'm writing this but I didn't play PZ this last 5 days or so xD.
There is no sense of meaning when you are the only existing human being in the world.
You don't know that, human kind is fighting the undead in the PZ world, just believe in it. Keep fighting and freeing zones for the upcomming npcs! xD
Can't do that anymore, i either play mp in this game or don't play it at all lately. The superb survivors mod is a partial solution but its far from perfect sadly, but still its something.
I'm a solo player, though admittedly I'm getting bored of the solo play (I used SuperB as well but the mod is buggy as all hell). I would like to join in unless MP is swarming with tryhards and such.
Most public MP servers will teach you the experience of being a hobo in a zombie apocalypse. Some have a pretty wholesome community. Some are serious roleplayers.
If you have friends with you it's always fun to be a ♥♥♥♥ to each other.
Well i can't comment on that, i prefer hosted sessions with selected people, turning into a coop. Another pro with that is that you can use whatever mods you guys want.
There are some good servers I whould like to join, but, my experience so far joining random servers are finding entire castles Made of wood, some even abandoned, not immersive. Wood pieces littering every house I visit. And generally default settings and tons of mods wich I don't enjoy.
The human aspect of multiplayer can garnish some of the most memorable fun times you will ever have in this game, along with the "Well, that sucked bad. Because troll." I love it.
I hope you find an awesome online home to die in.

If you can't find a good steam server for EU, try loading up the -nosteam command in the executable. I have no real statistics, but I have witnessed more (South and North) American players on my server when loading up through Steam. My GoG run version for some reason had more European players join.
That's without advertising my server or trying to recruit players...BTW
Probably looking on the zomboid discord could help. The GOG forums are pretty dead, so no need to look there.
