Loads but instantly crashes...
Just looking for some ideas. I load the game up and it almost instantly crashes. I have tried re-installing it several times. Playing on an older laptop but it should handle it just fine. Where can I check for logs and find the issue?

You can check game logs in: C:\Users\your user\Zomboid\Console.txt as far I can remember.
I also play in a decently old laptop and can still run it just fine.

could you get some more info, like is it immediately or when you load into a save

I'm having a similar problem' it seems after the last update, whenever I try to load a saved game, the game crashes. I open the game and I want to select a different playthrough thats different from the most recent played. at the title screen I select "load" and the game crashes. the only way I have found to get around this is to copy the files from the playthrough I want to play and paste it in the current games save folder. please help as this is not fun to do.

Go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid\Saves and delete all folders with the word "crash" in them.

Thanks everyone for the answers. I am thinking it was a problem with my other laptops internal graphics card which is built in but fairly old. I switched to playing on a new laptop and didn't have an issue. To clarify though it was almost instantly whether loading in a saved game or starting a new one. As soon as the game loaded from click to start I would get a glimpse of the game and then it would crash.

No folders with crash. I tried checking file integrity for Steam and it worked. So far have to do it every time I want to play. Only thing is it takes time to actually start playing now. That's where I loose motivation to play. Anyone else than Beard have any suggestions?

Checking file integrity should only need to be done once to find missing files from the game. If you need to do it every single time you want to run the game, I feel like that's an issue on your machine. They falsely detected some of the game's files as viruses, the firewall blocking the game, your use not having admin privilege, and whatnot.

I've done it several times and it work every time. But two days after this post, was the last time. I guess it's rectified.
