Player built walls might as well be indestructible at this point since both get the same result.
Asking for the same mod here.
Love that cheese! That's just SOP for me.
If you plaster walls and paint them, they become indestructible in game. Zombies will no longer try to break them.
Lore wise, that's from Romero's 1978 "Dawn of the Dead". Survivors take over a mall, and in one hallway that leads to a part of the mall, they build a new fake wall, and paint the whole thing to look exactly like the surrounding walls. The zombies stop even trying to go there since it just looks like a dead end, and just shuffle right past it. Backfires badly at the end of the movie One character gets bit, turns into a zombie, but retains some memory of that wall. He begins pounding on the fake wall, and a whole swarm of zombies gather and bash the wall down.
Apparently there's a video somewhere that debunks that myth.
can't find it right now, though.
Has someone a link to it?
edit:
I did a quick test with a cheat mod enabled and they do attack plastered/painted walls.
The mods I mention actually make the zeds treat the log walls exactly like non player built walls. They ignore them. I tested this one myself. Works great. I know it's only a stopgap solution and it takes a lot of effort hauling logs all over the place, but it's still worth a look.

Not that I'm aware of.
Careful. The fence/crate combination is very well known.
I've heard from a few people that it's not 100% reliable on the unstable branch anymore, which means the devs might be trying to patch it out.
Yeah, I prefer to take over suitable areas rather than build everything, but building later to further improve security is also good.
