Fire spreading on concrete and roads? Lasting over an hour?

I set fire to a building (cause i was bored) i made sure it was far away from my safehouse so that is couldnt possibly affect it.

But within 10mins of starting the fire. The fire spread across the street, across the car park, through about 3 blocks of suburban houses and completely destroyed my base. (and about 7 months worth of medical supplies, tinned food and my farm) and as i am writing this the fire is still going even after an hour since it started.

I dont know what i am more p***** at: The fact that i lost all my stuff or that fire can spread across 100 tiles of concrete (with nothing flamable on it) to get to my stuff. Last time i checked concrete wasnt flamable.

Any ideas? I need to know incase a fire starts by accident, i dont want the whole map catching fire.

Fire is something they are still working on. It is still not implemented properly (never has been). It will spread across concrete, even though that isn't possible irl. Use at your own risk. Also, fire DOES NOT kill zombies hardly at all anymore. It IS NOT an effective way to kill zombies. They will spread the fire everywhere and burn down mostly everything. Again, use at your own risk.

Man, I forgot to tuen off the oven, when I got back my house was on fire, moved on to a new house, died, started with another character using that save, and about a MONTH later I visited my old neighborhood and thre was still fire, with zombies spreading it.

Think we all have such a story to share.
The fire spread in this game is diabolical.

As I already wrote in some other thread:
Friend of mine wanted to "Check out what molotovs do"
2 hours later the centerpiece of Westpoint turned into the 9th circle of hell
Shame that our base was in the middle of it.

As punishment for torching our base i pulled the nail out of the sheetrope which was attached to our 2nd floor window when he tried to climb down. Never looked back and left him.
