Option to "Clean burn"
Hi.
Recently I got a bit too close to a campfire and got caught on fire, and my hand was burned. I have the usual options to bandage and disinfect, But using a bandage, I have to option to "clean burn" Doing so gives me a dirty bandage and "Heavy Pain" next to the red "-Burned" in the health menu.

I've tried looking this up online to no avail, pls send guidance ty.

What's the question again?
AFAIK you only need to disinfect and bandage the burn wound for a long time, probably a week or two, for it to heal.

I never get burned myself, and when I do, I don't survive. So I'm not sure about this.

Based on my experience, cleaning will reduce the chance of the burn becoming infected. This is just a regular infection, not zombie, but it will slow the healing. I am not sure if cleaning itself will help the burn heal faster or if it only reduces infection chance.

Burns will take awhile to heal, and a hand burn is bad because it affects fighting and doing most tasks, so hopefully you are well stocked and safe while it heals.

Douse cotton wool in disinfectant and use it to clean wounds. It’s also light to carry. It will help the healing time if you use cotton buds instead of rags. Burn is one of the worst wounds. Aside gunshot and fracture. The burn takes longer to heal, and is painful for longer with more severe pain than a normal scratch or laceration.

There are a couple of methods to heal wound most people see them as useless, but I stand by a clean character washed clothes, sterilised bandage, cotton buds greatly increase and well fed is the way to go.

Soaked Cotton buds are the way to go. They are the bread and butter of medical supplies. The soaked cotton bud also has an advantage over alcohol wipes which are the lowest available form of disinfectant. Perhaps bourbon is worse, but it’s possibly better. And the disinfectant bottle is too cumbersome to lug around. And maybe wasteful used this way aswell. Never pass up the opportunity to soak a cotton bud and carry it around.

Just to clarify, Alcohol wipes are the best. They have the same disinfecting power as cotton balls soaked in alcohol, but they have multiple uses, whereas the cotton balls can only be used once.
