is only playing solo worth buying?

Hey, i would like to play solo only, is it even worth it to play solo? Or this game is made to be played with other friends?

Both modes give different experience, so both are worth it.

While personally I prefer playing with others, solo has a lot to offer and plenty (perhaps even most) prefer it that way. Depends on your tastes in gaming though. Do you need objectives to be set for you, or do you like making your own? Project Zomboid leans more towards the latter.

Absolutely! I only play solo and am enjoying it a lot. Also no mods for me I just don't feel like I need them.

If you have bit of imagination and like to immerse yourself or enjoy a bit of RP, you'll get along fine on your own. The sandbox settings give you loads of options to tailor your gameplay. There are stacks of mods that can add to your solo game as well.

On the flip side, if you need a path, story, tasks, end game goals or a narrative, you probably won't enjoy it at all as a solo experience.

This game only gives what you are willing to put into it in a way. I personally still find it worth the effort after around one year of owning it.

I'll answer your question as a solo player.

I bought this game early 2014, I played off and on, maybe 20 hours a year. until the recent huge update that enhanced the graphics and animations. I started playing like crazy, I have hundreds of hours now and I also did a big chunk of online playing with people. Atleast 300 or so hours online alone. However, I bought the game again recently on GOG so I can own a complete DRM free copy with the installer. Now I play the GOG (Single Player) version 95% of the time and I've never looked back. I rarely touch multiplayer because it's so fun single player, also the ability to speed up time is probably the best part of sp.

In my opinion this game is better played alone, it feels like more of a horror game and less of a comedy like playing mp.

Zomboid was made for solo I've just hit over 3k hours all solo. MP was only added recently because the game is so awesome ppl asked for it and devs obliged rushing mp in time for Christmas.

U want the best zombie survival, base building, fully working vehicles, cooking, fishing, farming, foraging, trapping, with sandbox settings and massive modding community? With animals, farming, npcs and factions yet to come?
Yer I'd say pz is worth.

For me i haven't scratched my itch yet, i find the game quite boring because i feel like there is nothing to do past a certain point. With friends this fixed somewhat but they also find the game boring. One thing is for sure modders are carying the ♥♥♥♥ out of this games because the devs dont release content.

Bit harsh after devs have practically built the game and then opened it up to modders.

Louisville the biggest city in the map isn't content? Free btw.

Solo-only player here. As of this writing, I've played 955 hours. No mods. Project Zomboid is the single most engaging game I've ever played. No other game comes even remotely close.
