thin skinned
Says increases risk of infection, but by how much I have tried it twice now, and one scratch my fault, tired and carrying to much swung and missed, did not think swing would be that slow, next time swing and miss, do not know how I missed after getting up to almost level 7 in short blunt.

Was not tired of carrying to much, but got a laceration. But both times I got infected.

Curious how much % taking thin skinned puts your chances of getting infected up.

"35% (+10%) chance of being scratched and 8.75% (+2.5%) chance of being bitten (if unarmed)."

https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Traits

Not sure if it's 100% up to date though

might be just bias but i feel like you are more likely to be lacerated then scratched from my expierience

the "infection" talked about with "thin skinned" is not the zombie infection. It is regular infection. Like an infected wound. Nothing changes your chances of getting the zombie infection.

The only thing that can change your chances of getting the zombie infection is to not get bite or scratched. And certain clothing can defend you from scratches and bites. (in v41)

Well if that is true was unlucky, both times, I know it happens but never took thin skinned before.

Thought because it said increases risk of infection, it meant both zombie, and normal infections.

So I was curious of %, because it made sense to me if you easy to infect by say broken glass wound, why would a zed scratch be any different?

But thanks.

Zombie virus(?) is "not" an "infection". That is why thin/thick skinned does not help determine if you get the zombie virus or not.

Zombification is not explained in the game, so that is why there is confusion around what zombification is.

rng can be pretty cruel. I've had characters survive a dozen scratches without being zombified and I've had multiple characters in a row die from their very first scratch.

thin skinned and thick skinned affect your chances of getting scratched or bitten in the first place... instead of just taking damage with no scratch or bite that is all.. it doesn't change infection rate of anything... only your chance of getting scratched in the first place instead of just taking damage and not receiving a scratch

and this only affects your chances while you are unarmed.. if you are holding a weapon it uses your guard or defense stat instead.
