I didn't think of this but after going back and re-reading the new Mondoid, you are certainly correct :) If they are talking south as in south of Louisville, I wonder if it's a more completed version of the map section in this Mondoid linked below;
http://projectzomboid.com/blog/2015/01/h1pz2/
In all honesty I can only hope that's the case, even this half completed, fuzzy, old picture looks huge and epic :) lol
I didnt think of the suburbs, it would make a lot sense to add suburbs before you add
the proper city.
I cant wait to see more urban areas.
All of our strategies and tactics will have to be completely changed

I mentioned the point Neutz brought up here and linked this discussion as well as some dev posts that support his opinion, kind of like the picture I linked here :)
Anyway, figured I'd try to bring everyone together a bit lol, Super excited to find out what it really is but I think Neutz is right :)
Project Zomboid always has me looking forward to Mondays without me realizing it :P
And the Mondoids always make my day! Love this game and dev team for what they do :)
{ Mash continues with her work on the new residential area that’ll be found to the South of Muldraugh.}
This must mean that the suburbs idea is wrong and that its either Fort Knox or Radcliff.
This is getting more and more intresting.
But you're right, pretty interesting that it's south of Muldraugh as there isn't much there when you realize Fort Knox would be in the way.
The only thing that would hype me up about this map expansion now is if it indeed was Radcliff, as I've never heard the devs mention it and it would actually be a sizable addition to the game.
I still don't see it being Fort Knox for a few reasons but who knows. Maybe they don't care about adding NPCs first now.
Edit: They did tease a community center and there certainly is one in Radcliff though :)

Didn't see any around Fort Knox however.
I am 99% sure that its not Fort Knox, The Devs have said that they want to hold off adding
in the base till the military AI is ready.
Unless they want to give us a early christmass gift and put in the Army Ai way before
they added in the rest of the NPCs.
Which I would be totally fine with.
I agree, I highly doubt it will be Fort Knox for the same reason you mentioned. But then again, I was 99% sure it was going to be Orell (south of Louisville) since there was so much pointing to it in older Mondoids and nothing about the south of Muldraugh.
I'm sadly starting to think it's going to be the little neighborhood next to Fort Knox (west of the airfield). Wont be much for a new spawn location if Knox isn't included but at least it's something.
Just frustrating that they haven't communicated more about where the map progress is in over a year and have continued to leave us all guessing like this. I know and understand why they don't talk about NPCs in Mondoids anymore but it seems the no mention policy goes for everything that's not about to come out now, making Mondoids a sad weekly "coming soon" preview, when it used to be a great all around game development blog.
To be fair to the Devs, NPCs werent the only thing that people were hounding them over.
They just want to keep the hype train from going off the rails, so they keep their cards
close to their chest.
That said I do wish that they were more open about the game, because there will always
be trolls no matter what you do.
Just to be on the same page Orell is the Louisville suburbs, Right?
I do realize this as well but like you said, there will always be trolls and angry people (this is the internet after all). And I do love the devs (so much) but I also realize that that change in communication through Mondoids where things have gotten so secretive on all levels is frustrating for a lot of people.
And yes, Orell is a suburb south of Louisville :)
