March Ridge is Better Than I Thought
Watching a lot of YT videos about locations, location, locations in PZ, this place always seems to get some flak for either having "nothing", no nearby water source, and/or too many zombies.

But after going here myself, yeah, this place is better than I thought.

I've only cleared the houses on the east side of the town and I already encountered no less than 5 survivor houses.

And then there's this:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2885218788
6 individual houses treated as a suvivor house each.

I've only been around the east side of the town and I already got over 12 crates of non-perishables, over 4 crates of guns, a lot of high-end melee weapons(machete, katana, shovel, axe, crowbar), and many more loots.

Not gonna lie, though. The zombie population in this place is too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ high. But it's nothing a molotov and a few shotgun shells can't solve.

Was that a game placed survivor story house?

If so, enjoy that block of houses while it lasts. they are patching out blocks of houses for those survivor stories.

Yeah, they are. But even without those houses I encountered many other survivor houses in just the eastern side. And combined with Lucky trait, boy the guns. Almost every house has at least one gun in their drawers.

Reasons the community has a consensus that March Ridge has nothing is because there's no dedicated Loot Locations like Armories or Warehouses.

Main Primary Loot Sources are the Community Center for Exercise Equipment and the VHS Store in town. Survivor Homes are very much RNG so aren't a main focus in people's views on Loot Locations

And the town does have a very high zombie population which makes it unattractive for people wanting to loot. Why travel all the way to the Southern part of the map for a chance of getting survivor homes when you can drive past Rosewood and follow the main highway to Riverside and find a Hunting Store, Gun Store, and an Army Surplus Store with lower population density?

Pretty much this.

Eh.
Of course those places are better. The military surplus store is my first go to after getting a vehicle.

I'm just saying the place is better than it's credited.

Indeed it is. I have been sometimes spawned with pillows random spawn mod.
And with my settings the population is usually hillariously high, but you can still survive if you know the map, and have a bit of idea about the game. Of course you also need patience.
Even with scarce loot settings because of the sheer amount of homes you are quite okay.
Allthough for beginners i do not suggest Mridge:)

I used to like March Ridge for the Military Dormitory or whatever it was, the big apartment building near the entrance? It was a cool place to make a base in, lots of general loot too. Now Louisville exists and has many cool looking apartment buildings of its own (was basing in an office building recently, I think it's the NutriSomething one or whatever, and it had an honest to god CEO penthouse on the top floor, it was a nice surprise, and a fantastically luxurious base location lol) its a lot less attractive to me, at least.

Generally it's always been avoided for the most part due to the really high zombie population and there being generally easier areas cut from the same cloth that you can colonise with much less hassle involved, lol. It's still a nice neat location though. That gym is still a useful-ish place to check out, too.

Wait MRidge used to have military dorm and apartments? Man, the current one is just houses and more houses.

Not that it's bad with how big the chance of getting survivor houses here.

It's not like a military place with gear or anything, it's just a building name or something like that. Military Dormitory or something, where cadets or whatever probably live or something...I can't remember exactly, it should still be there, just a large apartment building near the entrance to the place. Just a big apartment building, kinda neat, but now Louisville exists it looks kinda bland.
