I always have needle and thread on me too, and some food.
You can keep on a crowbar as a fallback - almost unbreakable weapon. If you don't plan on using the caroentry tools you can not bring them, the crowbar also works for removing barricades.
Although, you didn't mention much in regard to carry weight so I'm assuming you're like me and you go around carrying maybe a little too much gear ? hahahaha.
That, for sure. I have the large backpack and in my current run I aim to have at least 5 spears at any moment, and some branches too.
Edit: I also always have like 2 knifes on me, for making more spears.
The satchel is good.
and so you can probably have vital gear, handgun, shotgun and ammo, and you will be overloaded, but it will just mean you can't sprint, and running will tire you out quicker etc
pretty much the same with all this - i don't like the visor on the riot helmet so i avoid that one (is white not transparent, probably for performace - i am sure a mod changes it since there are a few police and swat overhauls)
and the fire helmet is really hot so i tend to avoid that - although i am yet to catch a cold from being sweaty - but i plan to experiment lol
this is an interesting one - i will always go for the protection of the denim shirt - but i am someone who likes to avoid clipping where they can for aesthetic reasons - and the bulletproof vests clips through all jackets (instead of being completely underneath or over the top) - and so i either wear the bulletproof vest with no jacket, and sacrifice arm protection - or wear the leather jacket instead (there are mods that have body armor that doesn't clip - but they include a load of other stuff - so maybe i will try and extract just that - but i also like the vanilla bulletproof jacket)
i sometimes play with the No Items mod which starts you without a belt, and the Size Labels mod which means pants have sizes and if they are too big you need a belt or they can fall down lol
yeah pretty much all that - i tend to go for the regular hammer coz i prefer it's aesthetic as a weapon
also i tend to leave the welding gear in the car unless i need it (more about vehicles later)
and i made a mod that adds an eraser to the pencil (is one line of code since 41.69)
same here again - although i usually carry a spare duffel bag in my main bag that i can equip in my secondary hand if i'm doing a major loot run (sometimes even two if i'm going for major loot)
i tend to have everything in the bag except the water bottle (you can use bandages from the bag)
i also use Noir's Attachments, so the water bottle is attached to the bag (once i get my tailoring high enough) - as well as maybe a few other things so it looks nice (although i'm not sure it does the full weight reduction when you do that)
only additional things are generally a nightstick on my belt for melee (one handed so can also be carrying the duffel)
and then the guns and a bunch of ammo in the bag (boxes always in the bag then generally open as need which automatically dumps the rounds in main inventory, and i don't usually bother to put them back)
yeah i loot loads of stuff - it's all so useful lol - seems a waste to leave it behind - although i often mark the map and then save it (using a mod) - so that if i die a new character (whose map i would have blanked) might find the map and be able to add the notes to their map to find the stuff
what's important with bags is their weight reduction and capacity and the fact that only your main inventory is allowed to be over capacity (up to the 50kg limit - or maybe it's pounds - but either way it's 50 lol)
so you should always fill your bags to capacity before you put anything in your main inventory - because that already has to take the weight of your clothes and equipped items - and it has no weight reduction, while the bags can almost halve the weight of what they are carrying (so long as you have the bag equipped - otherwise it weighs what it says it weighs)
but pretty much - i find you can carry the essentials and only be a little overloaded - it slows you down a bit - but doesn't damage you much - and then a car is needed for the proper loot store - coz those things can carry loads (but are still easy to fill - 5kg per full petrol can and i'm proper prepping for living out in the woods away from the gas station lol)
also - do some push ups :-P
(i will live with it for essentials like belt items in certain positions - but i try and avoid it wherever i can - mostly it bugs me for clothing - or items going through bags, clothing or the player)
If I need hauling it's gonna be large backpack. for medicine it's just a couple of bandages. pen, eraser, some food for the day and water.
If I'm lvl my electrical skill then I have a screwdriver and a hunting knife in belt, otherwise a couple of hunting knives. My favorite weapon on the back and some sort of reserve weapon in backpack like hunting knife. If my main weapon is a spear I'll have a few branches in backpack. If i'm going for a lot of killing I'll have an appropriate amount of reserve weapons.
Can you unbarricade windows with a ball peen hammer? Maybe I recall it incorrectly...
You can wear both, and keep the fanny pack for a few select low weight items. If you are the type to really fill your hiking bags, the fanny pack means you can more quickly access those few items (rather than scrolling down). If you are playing a smoker, it is very efficient.
