sterilized bandage, sterilized rags

so i noticed recently that sterilized rags (0.5) are half the weight of a sterilized bandage (1.0). is there a difference between the two? like maybe a bandage will last longer before getting dirty vs a rag?

Bandage definitely lasts longer than a rag.

Bandage also has twice the "bandage power" at 4.0. Ripped sheets are 2.0, dirty bandages/sheets are 0.5. Adhesive Bandages are 1.5. I believe this stat determines how fast you heal while the bandage is applied (with dirty bandages/rags slowing healing instead of speeding it up).

best way is to use one sterRag to soak up all the blood, dont need to change when its dirty maybe 3-4 hours later you change into 1 sterBandage and most wounds will completely heal
with the bandage still sterilized at the end.

I think It saves you carrying around disinfectant which can be quite heavy

Even the little alcohol wipes can creep up on their stack weight. Let’s say you took two bandages and 2 packs of alcohol wipe. With most characters wouldn’t have a problem. Sometimes you apply two or three wipes to clear the infection. And that’s at 5 first aid, it can take 2 maybe 3 alcohol wipes. But the advantage at level 5 is that the infection is noticed instantly, as in the first time you look at the wound and bandage it usually the infection is known about at this point. So you can apply disinfectant before first application of bandage. Making sterilised bandage useless unless it provides free infection wipage when applied.
