Can I power a huge building with a single generator? And how?
So basically I want to power up the Riverside School, and get my refrigeration running. Should I just the normal procedure of placing the generator right next to a wall and clicking the "connect generator" prompt? Is there some other method I should do, like maybe bringing multiple generators or some different placement? Thanks.

Connect generator near your freezer, turn it on, then check the generator info?

Place it on the roof

Just know, the more crap it has to power the faster it runs out of gas, I went a lil nuts adding freezers and refrigerators and regretted it. lol

Well given generators can of have like an area where they supply power, it may be best to put them on the roof to centre it around your base or in this case the school base.

Note that it will take a lot of power the more 'stuff' it has to power like freezers 'n such.
I think you can get away with going to the 1st floor, going out to of the window at either the kindergarten room or teacher's lounge and putting it on the roof there.
You can also build stairs in future so you don't have to keep going out of those windows if you wish.

That SHOULD like at least power it or a good majority of it.
But you can always say connect it, turn it on and explore the school seeing what lights do and don't work to check if it does connect. (And ideally turn ones you don't use off to save fuel)

Bringing multiple generators is still a good option, not to power multiple areas but ideally as backups I suppose. Only turn 'em on when needed or something, since you'll eventually have to repair them with scrap electric.

Your best bet is to have a handful of genny's tucked away somewhere safeish. Not only will they reduce the strain on the grid, they'll run more "efficiently". The more that's wired up, the bigger the strain.

You can check how much is plugged it by checking the genny.

So by that logic if I have several generators is it worth running multiple for one small house with just lights and a fridge or would that just mean that multiple generators would wear down faster than one would?

Gas use will decrease, but you'll be repairing slightly more often.

You've really got two options: Eat gas, save electronics. Eat electronics, save gas.

Sounds like it would generate maintenance work for me. The gas doesn't seem to be going down too fast, think I'll keep it as it is and keep swapping generators when they wear down instead of wasting repair resources, not that I have any use for them.

It would be really nice if there were a way to turn of a fridge. Not disassemble/move it, just turn it off when you dont need to cool the stuff in it. A button like on the oven would be perfect. IRL you could just unplug it
