How serious is broken leg?
How crippling is getting crippled?

Never gotten that banged up but i am assuming it can happen, along with burns if you somehow get caught in a fire?

And without trying to get that banged up, as i have a habit it drying real quicklike, how'd one deal with wounds that serious anyways?

Stepping in a campfire is a tragic scenario all by itself. If you survive, dealing with what feels like a broken leg takes a week to recover from. Sterile bandages, alcohol swabs or disinfectant, or antibiotics are needed to recover from a bad burn.

Lets just say if you are not already at a point where you can sit around the base for a week game time, you are in for a bad experience.

It makes normal combat basically impossible

You move much slower (Especially if you don't have a splint on it) so you'll have to limp anytime you need to walk somewhere

Also when you break your leg your limb will lose health until you get it Splinted so you gotta do it quick or the healing time will be longer

Word of advice: Just kill your character and start a new game.

I don't care how many skills are maxed out, I'd rather max them out again than deal with the ridiculously slow movement.
And you better be at your best stealth during that time too. Because the second you get spotted, it's just a matter of time before a walker catches up with you

well in part yes but if you have a world that you consider that you have survived a lot try to survive what you can but be very careful I doubt that they can escape from a massive horde

You're like a horse. You'll make it, sure.. But it'll cost you and you better hope you're fixed before the next race.

Double fractures are hilariously evil.

Fun story.. was playing with a friend a while back and she had to go afk, meanwhile i am cooking food and since it was taking a while, decided to exercise a bit and wouldn't you know it, i forget all about the damn food and things take a scorchy turn real quick when the stove catches fire, along with half of the kitchen which leads to our base burning down to cinders in record time and since friend was still afk, she went up in flames as well.

Lot of progress was lost on that character but at least we got a real good laugh out of the experience and it made me pay more attention when i am cooking in game cos damn if that food doesn't turn into an inferno if you let it overcook.

Anywho, always wondered had she survived, how.. difficult time it would have been all around and sounds like it would have been quite horribad, especially since our first aid skills were very lacking. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

That's little extreme.

Here i was, thinking about taking broken leg as a downside, courtesy of the More Traits mod and wondering if burn victim be worth all those extra points but guessing the answer be a big fat no on both. :d2tidehunter:

It sounds extreme until you're in the middle of walling off your base and then all of a sudden you can't carry a few logs back to your base because you now have to heal your leg.

In all that time I can start a new character in the same game, level up, and get more stuff done.

It's a good ice breaker for mp. It might even be a decent way to get people to help you when you're playing on a new server. People were giving me goodies when I broke mine. It's not worth living through it in mp tho IMO mainly due to the amount of time it takes to heal. And you're just limping through all that. -_- In single player you'd want to isolate yourself the best you can from zombies and just do activities that lets you safely speed up time. It's not so bad there, should definitely die trying if you're on a long run.

It's actually worse in single player because you don't have the benefit of people helping you.

That's why I said you might as well kill yourself. Isolating myself to heal is a waste of time when I can level up quicker and get back to what I was doing with a new character. Been playing for years, at this point I know how fast I can do things i this game.

Not for me. It takes way too long & too inconvenient in mp even if you have helping hands.

If doing all that is waste to you then sure.. There's a lot of players who aren't balls to the walls on efficiency and would like to carry out that journey after investing time into a character. Seeing as it rarely happens I'd play it out in solo.

Hm, interesting.. guess it'd be a nice way for the community to come together and help each other out when things go sideways like that.

You make a good point.

And i do try to be at least semi efficient but it's not end all, be all thing for me.. two friends i play with on occasion are more into that than i am and that's just fine. ^^
