Shotgun racking animation stucking, preventing pushing.
- what i try to do, is to shoot, rack and push zombies away.
- What happens is i shoot, rack and if zombies are too close it jams to racking animation far too way long and pressing push button doesn't prevent that animation so i will be dead.

Wouldn't it be better if pushing button would stop racking and gun wouldn't be loaded after it?

Because i dont have time to switch weapon to push without shotgun after each shot.
If you don't have time to switch weapons, make sure your character isn't depressed, sadness slows item swapping & transfer speed.

As for your pushing/Racking issue, I won't discredit your playstyle, push zombies w your shotgun if you want to push zombies. It's a sandbox game.
But I will say, I've played over 600 hours of the game, taken on major hordes with a shotgun alone, and I'll tell you I have not once been "Stuck in a racking animation".
Panic can make your rack and reload time slower. As well as make your aim worse. Use beta blockers if you're gonna go shooting.

i never had such problems like you.... Just load the shotgun full before going into fight, let them come closer and walk backwards while shooting, reload between they are not to close, if they are coming to close, turn around and walk away for a breath.... just simple

Ok, maybe you have running Z´s what i often forget, my Z´s just walking how it should be (sandbox)

Funny, but even that video shows that shotguns are racked in nanoseconds, not what game has struggling racking animation, not sure if it gets better at higher reload levels if racking even counts as reloading.
Yaya, sorry. 😅
But.
I never had this problem, tbh... I'm never tried hold my position while shooting with SG. Shoot, fall back, aim again...

Dont walk when shooting. Dont push with a gun. Reload to full each time. Kite the zombies, group them up in a tight bunch, or both. Dont use a gun if u dont have ammo to kill everything your attracting. Reload a round or two inbetween kills if u have time. (Lfd2 tactic)

Like everyone else is saying, keep it loaded, keep them back, and watch your back. You'll hit more aiming and standing still then you would running and gunning.

Reload while kiting (normal walk in circles)
stand still for a moment for each shot, in between shots strafe back, when they reach you,
rinse and repeat step 1.

My question is why do you feel so compelled that you need to physically push the zombies with the gun? One of the biggest benefits of using guns is that you never have to get in the "danger zone" where zombies are capable of getting in a fluky hit. As others are saying, the safe way to do it is to always be slow walking away from the zombies while you're reloading. This habit will also help you make sure you're checking your back often since you have to turn away from the horde to walk and reload.

I would suggest you get up close and personal then point those barrels straight on their faces for maximum damage. Afterwards, take a few steps back from the horde so you'll get some room to rack the gun in case it is jammed then rinse and repeat

like i said there is certain situations where this would be better if animations were not stucking.
There's little to no "animation stucking"

Level your character before trying to rambo WP.

It isnt rambo when you have one zombie you shoot, miss, and then it start racking animation and no matter how you press SPACE button it just stands there racking gun, it is animation stuck.
You shot at a lone zombie.. With a shotgun. And missed.

I fail to understand how that's anyone fault but your own.

Yes that works but i do want to push them on certain situations, you dont want to retreat one zomvie if it means you have to let horde inside, shoot, if miss then push, if dont press push button instantly character will lock into racking animation.

no you should turned before they came so close. ^^

Rule number one in PZ is : Never risk your life. If you feel "oh oh that dangerous i should better run" = you should run !

Also helps to make sure your character isn't panicked whilse using shotguns, no panic can kill 3-4 zombies immedaitely per shot, extreme panic only damages a couple and kills maybe 1, if not any. That will buy you more space as well, shoot and rack, then just turn and run as needed, pushing with a gun is risky, space is necessary.
