Visibility at the top of stairs problem
is there a fix for being able to see the upper level of a building when you are standing right at the top of a flight of stairs?

when you get to the top the entire room is revealed as if it just appears, but your character can't see it when he's standing on the top stair lol?

is there a mod that shows the top / bottom floor based on which direction you are looking on stairs, and make the area / zeds at the top of the stairs visible when you're close to the top?

zeds can see you coming up but you can't see nor target them, even though that area should clearly be within vision of your character, and i have been attacked / bitten / killed at the top of stairs more times thann i can remember

honestly everytime i gotta climb stairs and i can hear zeds somewhere in the house i always think "for ♥♥♥♥ sake here we go again" just because the visibility rules are nonsensical

Don't loiter on the stairs.

i'm not on the floor below is my point, i am standing on the very top step of the stairs so i would be more considered upstairs than downstairs, although somewhere in between

there is no reason why when i am stood on the very top step (which is at the exact same height as the floor in question) i for some reason cannot see anything that is one foot directly in front of me.

if you have stairs in your house, go and stand on the very top step of the stairs. can you see what is at the top of the stairs or does your vision go black?

as for loitering on the stairs, that is the exact thing that i don't do because of what i have been highlighting. unfortunately though, sometimes you have to go upstairs in this game

I agree that this is a problem and hope that visibility on stairs gets improved at some point. There seems to be no safe way of climbing stairs currently, since if a zombie is at the top of the stairs, it will be completely invisible until you are literally on top of it.

in terms of the games programming yeah maybe i am not. nevertheless i should still be able to see whats up there. if your friend was standing at the top of the stairs you would be able to see him from the bottom, or the middle. i dont know what is so hard to understand.

whisper at the bottom. If zeds are right there, they'll come

they will come 99% of the time, the other 1 you are dead due to instabite from behind when you walk up. have fun playing casino.

I do agree that the moment you are about to go up is the most dangerous one, regardless of whether there are some tricks to mitigate it.

In that moment, your head appears popping up even if your Z coordinate is 0.99.

Maybe once you reach that point there could be a way to do a smoother transition graphically / switch the view to the top floor with some sort of partial / faded view of the below floor.

You can make do as it is, but that would be nice to have.

It is best to try to get their attention from below, in case one was about to go down, or right on top of the stairs in a position ready to grab you.

Although I tend to go up as you said, but I have keen hearing so I know if there are zombies nearby.

just shout downstairs so that most zeds come down,
then only 1-2 zeds can be stuck on the stair railing, if you unlucky.
then just poke in and back up in combat stance to lure them down.
(correcting their pathfinding down)
be cautious about your overheat,overencumberance/clothing and exhaustion
cause that can cripple your combat stance speed immensly.
and thats how you died.

And also drowsiness, which at max level gives you a marvelous -95% damage inflicted (and -50% at the first).
